I’ll tell you right now this works better than any other method!! My ear was killing me and was hurting more than a tattoo lol but once I did this I could hear the air coming out of my ear and felt so satisfied
This actually works. As a kid I had once a very painful earache and a friend of my mothers did this and I literally heard the whoosh with the respective flame burping at the top, it did so a couple of times and it was like magic. Instant relief. - then a few years ago a coworker on a business trip was having ear pain from the flight. I told her we could give this a try, and that as a kid I had seen it work on me. Again, was really impressive how fast it worked and my friend, who probably thought it was a bunch of hogwash couldn’t believe how efficient it is. Why it works is beyond me, I am sure there is some physical explanation, but it really does work very fast when it’s air pressure pain.
I have been looking for a video that shows how to do this, thank you! My mom did it for me when I was 9 and I need to have it done now. Didn't know I could do it myself.
Just found my own home remedy for clogged Eustachian Tube. The key was finding something that could put positive pressure in my nose. ANSWER: A bicycle pump. Put the end of the pump hose on one nostril (as securely as possible to prevent a leak) and pinch the other nostril. Then I slowly pushed the pump handle down and then swallowed (while still pushing the handle down). You will IMMEDIATELY put air into the Eustachian tube…relief! Whatever liquid was in there will drain...over time. You may need to do this more than once...over several days. Saved $59 and several days waiting for a marketed device that basically does the same thing.
Did this really work? I hope so because I read your comment and immediately ran out and bought a bicycle pump. I've done it a couple of times but no joy yet :(
When I was young my ears were hurting. My stepdad laid a towel down and and got some newspaper and a lighter. He said this was an old Indian remedy. I thought he was joking with me. I then realized he was serious and then I was terrified. He talked me into it and he rolled up the paper and put it in my ear. I was terrified! I suddenly heard a “POOF” and suddenly my ear pain went away and no more pressure. I use this method to this day and on my kids. My own children swear by it as well! Best trick ever and way cheaper than a medical bill!
@@DrunkBrainAllTheWay they knew about it because the oral tradition is WAY stronger than us modern folk can understand. Our ancestors may not have fully understood why things worked but they knew that they did. This information downloaded from generation to generation is one of the beautiful parts of the human experience. And one of the travesties of our current time. Having been separated from our predecessors, their stories and their wisdom. Although, it was neccessary for this to happen in order for us to buy into the BS that the media and big business sells us. Wait, maybe separating us from this information was intentional 🤔
you are right, I know that but how the air can flow from the inner ear to outside if the eardrum separates them 100% In the anatomy of humans and various other tetrapods, the eardrum, also called the tympanic membrane or myringa, is a thin, cone-shaped membrane that separates the external ear from the middle ear.
I would love to be able to give you the answer for that, but unfortunately I only know this "fix". Is something I learned from my grandparents and you can imagine they also have no extended knowledge, just the remedy :)
I grew up in a Mexican household that did this. The whole heat drawing out the air things was explained to me as a child. But as I grew up and went into the medical field and learned anatomy, I question this method as well....You're correct, the eardrum is blocked so the air that is trapped in the cavity behind it would be impossible to escape. Only through the eustachian tube which is connected to the airway in the back of your nose. That would be the only way the air/fluid would be able to escape. Now I just hope people don't start sticking the newspaper in their ear and setting it on fire 🤦
thx for sharing this with us. Before watching your video today, I tried to pull the air out of ear as you did yours and I felt a great discomfort. So stopped immediately. I did not know that I had to continue until the discomfort is over. Do you suggest that I should give it a second try?
Hi, you should keep it there until you feel the air rushes out :) Try to make that hole large enough to let the air flow, but small enough to go in easy. Make sure you don't squeeze or bend the cone. There absolutely no problem if you keep it long, the longer the better, but do be careful with the fire...having someone there to watch you is always good :)
I got punched right on the ear. I’ve felt pain for about 4 days. I thought it was the impact of the hit. It now feels like I have swimmers ear. Just straight pressure that comes and goes. I tried this method twice and I still feel some pressure but it also feels like a slight throbbing afterwards. Not sure if that means it’s working slowly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi, no, I don't think so...you should go to the doctor for that. There might be some "left overs" in there and the doctor can clean it out with tools or give u some drugs that could help.
If its blocked, most likely that it needs to be cleaned. There are things at the pharmacy for uncloaking ears, or u can go to an ear doctor and they can do it in 5 minutes. Ear pressure is different than blocked ear.
BoringStuff hey and I went to the emergency room and the doc said I have no earwax acomulated he said it's a congestion thing with my nose that made my ear get some liqud don't think it's that tho because when it got clogged I went to la national forest on the way up my ears got clogged on the way down only one unclogged and the other didn't hopefully it's just liquid I tried the cone thing and just made my ear hurt but when the cone was in my ear I felt like lil crackling sounds didn't know if that was normal and it was hurting so I stoped hopefully the congestion nasal spray works thanks for replying BTW
BoringStuff I got debrox ear wax removal kit and didn't work that's wen I knew it wasn't. Earwax doc said liquid but I think it's air did u get ur hearing back after the cone?
No problem :) I had that problem too when I did skydiving. Normally, when going on higher altitudes it happens to me, but I solve it fast by blocking my nose with my hand and trying to blow air trough the blocked nose. But when it happened because of plane flight (skydive), it was painful like u said. It took some time to pass.
I don't think the cone would work in this case....although it might, if you said you felt some pain. The way I did it was to try blowing air trough the blocked nose, but that's also very painful and I just did it slowly and in time.
that works well when you change altitude. Because of the pressure change, you feel your ears "blocked" (can't hear right) and they I do it is pinching my nose and blow.
Oh really where does the remaining of that paper fall right inside yourself. Anyone stupid enough to try this and why can't we spend some money for our health its necessary.
Hey, are you sure is just ear pressure? Many people can have clogged ears, stuff accumulates in there. You should try seeing a doctor to check if u have that. It can be easily removed, even at home with a simple device and hot water...or the doctor can do it on the spot...no pain :)
As long as you don't push it in your ear :) it doesn't need to go deep inside and please be careful with that fire :P have someone watching you...be safe :P
Khoa Tran It really depends...in the video, that was my first. Other times it takes 2 or 3. Make sure the hole of the tip of the cone is big enough to let the air flow, but small enough to get in your ear...then keep it steady as much as you can with your head on a side.
+Tudor Buzle Went to ENT they said I have middle ear fluid and just said wait it out I can't wait this out its killing me would this treat fluid behind the eardrum?
Hi, I don't think so...the idea of this is that the fire on the end of the cone is creating suction, but I don't know if that is powerful enough to pull out liquid. For air is more than enough, but liquids, I have no idea...
