Great informative video, Lyn. High humidity is something we constantly have to deal with. Last week it was just cloudy and wet constantly, I think the humidity in my greenhouse was probably close to 100%. Thankfully the weather has improved now and I can have the fans and things running in the greenhouse. Thank you for sharing with us as always, Lyn. Thanks so much Daz :-D yes humidity is such a problem here in UK and Ireland, the weather has been absolutely roasting the weekend and going to get even hotter this week, 30c forecast for Wednesday YAY! it reached 42c in the Polytunnel yesterday, it was too hot to even walk in there haha, but the cacti are loving it, thanks so much for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a wonderful Monday and new week ahead XXXX

0:36 aaaanddddd, I'm a new fan!!!! 💚thank you. I've never experienced this😭 My plants were in a beautiful hand built large greenhouse from my husband, with dual auto fans...anyway. Now we moved to a new climate, from the valley to the coast:) Succulents are inside, we are January weather, and they are sticky and don't look well. 5 years growing healthy succulents, this is a first for me. Thanks for your suggestions!

Lynn I got white mold/powdery mildew this summer too and it started where plants were the dryest on my surprise under lights. I think one of the new plants had it and it spread it. I used neem oil too and seems to help but leaves get damaged.

I got PM on my Poppies this year, mostly because of the rain in spring and from sitting in a puddle... and probably from leftover herbicide my city used to put in the water supply, which just kills everything.... (I used felt pots that had not been used since when my city was putting herbicide in the water) Anyways diluted or just straight up milk seemed to work as a preventative measure, and stopped it from spreading, pretty quickly. The weather dried up too which helped. Side note on the herbicide all plants are showing recovery! Even trees growing in the local park... er... at least the ones that survived... I don't like to spray neem oil by the way, it stresses the leaves a lot, I usually just put a few drops on the topsoil by the roots and then water after, works best if the soil is drier... still will turn the plant slightly yellow, but it won't hurt the leaves as much.

haha Simon :-D thank you so much for sharing the vid with Martin on the group, the coincidence is I had to treat some of my succulents at the weekend again with the Hydrogen peroxide as i noticed some of them getting this powdery mildew, the Hydrogen peroxide works a treat at getting rid of it after about 3 applications, thanks so much Simon for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Hans and me from Belfast to Dublin for a wonderful evening XXXX

I just have been removing the leaves on my jelly bean plant, but perhaps I should try this too. I was beginning to think Sedums and Echeveria were just not for me 😅

Very helpull as usual, watched your other video for neem oil etc will it work for fungus gnat and the larve as have had 3 trays of cactus seedlings taken out by them looking for a good way to keep the bugs at bay. Been very humid in england uk too hope you get on top of the mildew. Hope you and Hans have a nice weekend.

So happy you found the video Helpful, yes Neem oil works really well for Fungus gnats too and if watered into the soil it will kill the little larvae that live in the soil, I often put some of the yellow sticky traps over the pots too as this helps to catch the adult gnats and helps stop the breeding cycle of them, fungus gnats can be such a nuisance especially for young seedlings, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Monday and new week ahead XXXX

Just run a few fans. It works really well. They use fans in almost all hydroponic commercial grow buildings.

Also rose clear is a azole fungicide specifically triticonazole. Its a class 4 toxin so be careful it also has aceditamiprid

Neem is great, but as u say I cannot use it on my succulents in Queensland as they will burn!

It’s winter for me and I have a humidifier running and just noticing mold/mildew starting and I’m freaking out!

Hi there, mold and mildew is a pain for succulents and I always notice some of my succulents seem to get powdery mildew at this time of year, the 5% hydrogen peroxide will kill the mildew and mold, I do sometimes have to re apply the hydrogen peroxide about 5 days later to completely get rid of it, thanks so much for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Thursday XXXX

@@desertplantsofavalon thank you so much! I pulled my PNV and Dusty Rose out and moved them and sprayed them with Neem oil. I know it completely ruins their appearance but I’m just trying to save them at this point. I’m watching my collection like a hawk. I will definitely do the H2O2 next time I need to treat. Hi there, Tea Tree oil can cause damage to the leaves even at a very weak dilution, I love to use Tea Tree oil on my skin and its a fantastic to use to sterilize plant pots and benches and I love the smell too, but its best to avoid using it on plants as it can burn the skin of them, its has amazing anti fungal properties for using around the home and for cleaning plant pots and benches though. thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday XXXX
