In this video, I demonstrate how I trim my ends. Trimming split ends is an essential part of a healthy hair care regimen. For more information on the technique featured in this video, visit glorycrown.blog...
I just want to say thank u this has helped my hair grow so much one thing I hated was goin to the salon and getting my ends cut it was so frustrating because I felt the stylist would cut way too much now I can cut what I want. Stay blessed ✂️
thank you for sharing this information it was so helpful! i knew this girl who went to $400 stylists a cpt of times and they convinced her that she needed to trim her ends and would chop of 3 inches every time, just as you said. she would get so emotional and rightfully so because she wanted to grow it much longer than it was. i never would have known to twist it, but now i see why its so important.
I have NEVER heard anyone explain it like this! I still won't let my stylist trim my hair because she wants to do several inches. Infact, I think she may eventually fire ME as her client for this very reason, but because of this video, I'm not worried at all. I'm gonna have confidence in myself! I'm sick of being too scared to care for my own hair. I love this. Thank you so much, Princess.
I've never had a hairdresser twist my hair when they gave me a trim but it definitely makes a lot of sense so all the split ends are caught. your hair is gorgeous and thanks a million for this tutorial and for providing the links :)
You are the first person I've come ahead that finally has the solution to my ends. I've never heard of this techniques but it seems so true. My hair has a lot of short split ends and I've always wondered how my hair kept looking that way even after trimming. I am so going to try this from now on. Thank you so much!! :D
I don't like layers and I've always been aware that I have shorter split ends. Just thought I'd have to wait until they catch up with my long hairs to trim them. This has helped me so much I'll be doing it tonight! Thank you for sharing!
Whoaa..!!! you're an Angel from outta nowhere..! My last cut was a disaster...and with professionalist too.. I asked them to cut a centimeter of my hair... stupidly...cus i got curls..she cut from a little above my back side... to... my shoulders.... had salon traumas ever since.... tho now i have a magic spell for the cure... Thanx a heap sweety... xxx
I have been thru some horrible experiences with "trimming ends"...one time I left the salon looking like Fantasia...not that she is not beautiful just I wasn't expecting to get my hair chopped off...I tried your method and for the first time I was pleased with the result for trimming my ends...and I did it myself at home...no need to go to the salon and pay $30...Thanks a lot for you video...
OMG U ARE AWESOME! I been a victim of scissor happy stylist. I'm scared to go to the salon so now im going to buy me some hair cutting scissor and do it the propper way myself. thanks so much.
I twist my hair too when I trim my ends I always wondered why hair was always sticking out the twist. Now I know to cut them also. Thanks for posting this video.
Thank you so much! I'm going to cut & trim my own hair from now on because my hair is very long and some stylist do tend to get scissor happy ( mostly women stylist ) men are so much better to go to! :) thanks again, blessings!!
this method is thorough and it's really good if you don't want to spend any money. Anyhow, the split ender costs like 60 bucks. you can get it online from amazon or on the split ender website. You could also probably get it at an As Seen On TV store, if they have one where you live.
Hey miss. I totally understand where you're coming from. I shared a picture in a previous video of how my trim came out when I cut my hair while it was in its natural state. Basically, I ended up with a lopsided do, which is why I always flat iron my hair prior to trimming. Now, some claim you don't have to, and I'm not saying you do. I just don't know the technique for trimming hair that's not straight. If someone knows, they'd have to teach me, LOL!
Thats so true, I went to a stylist two weeks ago and asked for a light trim, that bytch gave me a hair cut and all my progress was gone and I didn't think I needed that much taken off at all. So now my past shoulder length hair is to the middle of my neck. I will never go to a salon again. I will either get my mother to do it or I will do it myself.
wow yeah your hair looked so much better after the trim! i've always been scared to trim my ends and when i did i trimmed too much =[ i think im gonna try your method after my relaxer next week =]
Thank you for sharing this technique. I have been a victim of scissor happy stylists and stylists who burned my scalp with a blow dryer. I'm trying to learn how to do my hair on my own so I don't have to depend so much on stylists.
Thank you so much for the advice. I used regular sewing scissors for my big chop and noticed something wrong. I have thick strong hair but my hair was dull and did not look right. I did my trim with some good hair scissors now my hair looks fabulous.
Hi, I have tried your trim technic and I was amazed with the results. My friends commented on the trim (they noticed). I don't think I will go to the hairdressers again unless I am getting an actual cut.
I love your hair tutorials alot, just started watching them today, but your makeup is always really beautiful. Maybe you can do some of those tutorials too??
Thanks My mom always make the stylist trim my hair, and i grew about 5 inches of new hair and it was long and now I have a bob again, will buy some hair scissors today, im 17 btw that lady is crazy no one's hair in that shop ever grows, not even hers!
this is a very interesting method for trimming split ends and makes all the sense in the world I'll be trying it next week hopefully when I get my relaxer.... I'll be 13 weeks post lol :)
Fine hair: trim every 2-3 months Coarse hair: trim every 3-4 months (maybe even 5) If you are taking very good care of your hair and are NOT using heat, chemicals, excessive products or blow dryers, you can get away with trimming a lot less often. I use conditioner only and never straighten my hair. I must say that i have yet to find any split ends in my hair but i will still be trimming perhaps every 4 months.
i was afraid to cut my ends, and when i finally did, my hair looked so much better, didnt have to worry cry about my split ends anymore. And seem like my hair was getting longer faster. I will try this months later
so I went ahead and tried last night it worked out great, when I go to do it in a few weeks I'll def use this method again. It's great! But if your hair isn't long enough to pull to front def have someone do it.
yea i know same for me. my heritage consists of a whole bunch of thing and my hair just happens to grow fast too. but friends tell me i dont understand because i have "good hair". they dont get that my hair isnt perfect and has its own problems. they are just so wrapped up in length and not caring enough about taking care of it
@HereComesTheBride1 Well, let's say that in 3-months your hair has grown approx. 1.5", then if you were trying to grow out your hair, then you wouldn't take off all of that growth, you'd just take off a quarter of an inch or less... even an eighth of an inch. This way, your hair is not the same length this year as it was last year. So many stylists don't understand the concept of that. I want growth progress, not stagnant. You can do it! I'm building my own confidence too!
Everyone has different growth patterns. It's just a part of nature I guess. Some ladies even talk about how one side of their hair grows faster than the other...I can't really say what the reason for it would be though.
@HereComesTheBride1 it depends. If your using heat and chemicals in your hair its best to trim every 4-6 weeks. If not i feel that every 8-10 weeks is a comfortable period to trim my hair.
I bought them so long ago, so I don't remember the price. All I know is that the brand name is Goody, and they're stainless steal. Mine was in the low range...hair cutting scissors can be really expensive!
@sweetpsylvia It depends on what you mean by "often" but if you trim your hair regularly (searching for only split ends like in this vid) then you will prevent yourself or your stylist from cutting off ends that have split further up the shaft which would equal shorter hair. So it doesn't really grow your hair faster, it is more accurate I guess to say it helps you KEEP the growth you are normally getting.
If you don't cut them your ends will continue to split and eventually break off. Then your hair will really be short after that, so it's best to cut them now. I already explained in the video how trimming the ends is necessary maintenance THAT SHOULD NOT BE DETRIMENTAL to your overall progress.
I would love to know what stylist created this technique please. Your hair is very pretty, but this is not a recommended technique on how to properly reshape or trim your ends.
@kodakgirl24 My mom is a hairstylist and she always saids the best way to trim your ends are when your hair is dry. Because she said right after you do it you can oil your ends so they can gain back moister and grow again. But some people do it wet, but when people doit wet it's harder to see the accual spit ends.
you said you haven't been flat ironing your hair, yet your hair is straighter than when I flat iron my hair 4 times..... please tell me how you got your hair so straight and shiny
I've been usin g this technique since last year and it's great. The only thing that doesn't go as I want is that the ends are not straight, I can't cut it at the same lenght:))
Hi I'm not an expert but I have had bad experience with hair dressers and I think they should only trim split ends or if you want them to just trim the relaxed ends. Also before you let them do anything check your hair first for the split ends and the relaxed ends so you know yourself exactly houch they are cutting off before hand.
you have a beautiful face and speaking voice btw. constructive criticism: for future videos i recommend that you consider maybe trying to trim the ends so to speak. you probably could have gotten all of this information across within 2 or 3 minutes.
I would never keep my hair cornrows up 4 months straight. I say 2 months or 3 months max. Your hair can become very matted & tangled. You always want to be able to wash your hair and with cornrows in, you can get to the Scalp good!
Its best to trim the hair dry depends on the texture of the person hair if you do it wet you got to remember that the hair expands because and when its dry it going to shrink!
LOL! Thanks Girl! By coincidence, I'm listening to the song right now! You'd think after being a Jackson Fan for yeas I'd recognize her voice!! Duh!! I don't know what's wrong with me, LOL!
ooooh i'll try that !! i brought something called a 'splitender' it was suppose to do that - i could never get it to operate properly bascially move down the hair so i just gave up! but this would be the 'manual way' whch will be good to try cos at the moment just - as you said I trim just the very ends and go!
because alot of them are obsessed with length. i guess some dont realize that trimming the ends will make it grow better and healthier. alot of black women hate to get rid of their hair. (btw im not talking about ALL black women)
i have really long hair and i nooooo that i have split ends cuz i havnt had my hair cut in over a year im scared to do this! but it seems like a very good technique
