I’m trying to grow the Kratos beard and I’m definitely scared to trim it myself. I always end up shaving too much off. I’m 100% going to a barber and showing them the video
Thank you very, very much for those DIY videos. They are really teaching me to keep my beard as I like, particularly this one. Worth mentioning, the "mind blown moment" on the other video and this one where you lean the head back to produce a straight line on the lower part... I still feel dumb for not knowing this earlier, and thankful for being taught on your videos! Keep up the awesome work!
Mental health is so important these days. Good to know that there are so many kind people around. Take care and keep going! Greetings from Tirol/Austria
I love Kratos and God of War but the anatomy was my favorite part of the video. It helped tremendously in debating what I'd like to do with my yeard later, my original goal was the Kratos/Ducktail but I am starting to think round/The Boss style. This made me realize I need to research more on full beard styles and beard anatomy. Luckily, I'm only on my 3rd month of the yeard and have plenty of time. Thanks Matty! Incredible video, you slayed the Kratos again.
@@mattyconradgrooming You're welcome! The info graphic was very useful. Very cool guide. I personally would be interested in more nerdy/scientific videos!
I’ve been hairstyling since 1994, but barbering is a whole other craft! You’ve got some mad talent and a great teaching flow. Now I can trim my Hubb’s handsome beard, thanks a bunch!
I have only had bad experiences with barbers 3 by 3 they took off almost 6 months worth of length off cuz they couldn't handle my beard. So i stoped going to barbers for years. Seeing your dedication to the craft it's giving me hope that there might be a local barber that can deal with my beard. Great content. Keep it coming.
Likewise, been to 3 different barbers locally each time ive shown pictures and said very clearly not to touch the length outside of trimming strays, every time i lost months of growth.. So here i am, DIY time!
I am here to learn how to trim my husband’s beard better. He is growing it out, he is my handsome guy😍 Thank you so much for doing this video, it is so helpful and easy to understand.
Great video! I was finally able to give this a try tonight and I think it turned out very nice. A few “oops” moments so ended up being a little shorter than I wanted, but now I can grow it out and continue the shape maintenance over time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill with the rest of us!
Matty's videos never disappoints. 🔥 I've learned a lot from your videos and over the past couple of months I feel very confident to shave my beard myself. Thank you very much.
Now i'm here thinking about: 1. Kratos spending hours to groom his beard so it looks nice and tidy and 2. The sheer skill he has in doing all that without the proper tools and products lol Awesome video btw, will definitely try this out when mine grows a little longer
Thank very much man, after visiting your channel i started growing my beard at the age of 17 (now 18) it is a small beard but thank you very much you gave me the confidence to grow my beard keep doing the good work .
Great video, and thank you for showing us the DIY version! I've been growing my beard out about 7 months now and might try an experimental shorter ducktail.
I am watching these videos for my fiance since he is growing his beard for the first time after I told him how attractive he looks. Thanks for all the tips!
Absolutely rad. Thank you for this perspective, Matty! The square style already looked great on you, your sacrifice is not lost on us. Thank you. I appreciated the nerd time, and I'm here for more! Great editing as always.
Love it! I never expected to smile trough whole video about beard trimming. That is simply amazing. 👌😂 U really nailed that „LACK OF INFORMATION” Thank for filling that void!
Late to the party my friend, I apologize for not somehow finding your channel sooner; I’ve been cutting my own hair since marrying my beautiful wife twelve years ago. However I haven’t quite had the patience to grow out my beard to the point where I could shape it and have fun with it. I love what you’ve done here, it kind of reinforces some ideals that I’ve come to know by clipping my head and made me confident that I can do my beard too after another month or two of growth. I use very similar products to fade and outline my own head and the use of the word “flyaway”, I knew immediately what you meant by that and I’d been hesitant to cut those until now. Thanks brother.
My dude and fellow Canadian! I stumbled upon your channel just now and love this vid! Just this past year I've decided (with a lot of encouragement from my wife) to grow out my beard. But I've always gone to my hairdresser to let her trim it up. Mostly because I don't trust myself to do a good job. But with this instructional vid for one of my favorite types of style, methinks I'll try my hand at this and save me some cash! Thank you very much and I'll be sure to check out your other videos too.
This is the first time in my life I have decided to grow my bear out for more than one month (November) I have discovered Beard Oil and Beard Butter, thank GOD!!! I've subbed thank you for the great content!
Dude! You are an amazing barber. How could anyone justify leaving a negative comment on your channel. I use a lot of the techniques from your videos for my beard. Keep doing your thing.
I'm new to beards and I'm trying to learn. I've always had jobs that require a clean shaven face. I retired at 46 and am now going to grow a beard. I've got about 2 months of growth and I'm looking to shape it for the first time. So far I've learned what not to do on the different angles to make my head look funny. I just ordered some tools and will be shaping next weekend. Thanks for the video assistance.
Great, detailed video!!! I tend to always over-trim now that I’m growing out a bigger beard. I’m too used to my Boy Band skinny chinstrap beard I had for over a decade. 🤣
Hey Matty your videos are so helpful. Thank you for all the content. Can't wait to get a good set of clippers so I can shape my beard this way. Keep the great content rolling and thanks again
Hey John.. I don’t really subscribe to the whole alpha beta thing but I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks for watching snd I really appreciate the support.
you've just earned yourself a sub!!! I am fairly new to a beard about 18 months and it costs a fortune at the barbers to get it looking fly. I have took the step of getting a beard trimmer with guard and taking it down but I don't think I could ever fade it or have the confidence to do it. Having said this your video has given me more confidence not to be afraid and go at it. Excellent video, thanks :)
Your channel inspired me to try a beard for the first time. And it’s an amazing feeling! Thanks so much for the awesome videos they have been very helpful!
Do people really give you crap for providing awesome knowledge on how to keep themselves looking their best? I’d guess it’s because they haven’t started to grow hair on their face yet 😂. This video was the first of yours I seen. I started to watch others and even applied it to my own beard. I gotta tell ya I look great. It took a few pauses of the video while I tried to get some things right on the mirror but I definitely nailed it. Thank you! 🤘🏻🙏
So glad you're doing these videos. I actually found a good barber for my beard using your recommendations. I've always been uncertain about hair products because I wasn't really sure how best to use them, so it's helpful to have these vids. Got my first tub of Super-Dry the other day now that I've seen how you use it. Really works great for my beard and my fine hair. Please keep making these.
I love the video! and the style, because within that there is something long, it must be worked and serious. I used to always fix my beard myself and I got to wear it below my chest! Today I'm wearing a long but shorter style, about 3-4 inches. I love Kratos' style, I've even thought about doing it myself but I've been visiting a barber for a year, it doesn't really make it perfect... but I think it's better than what I can get myself, it already scares me touch my beard by myself! I always end up seeing one side longer than the other and I end up cutting more than necessary.
You killed it with this 1! I wish I could do this myself but I’m not confident enough in my ability to make each side even 😂 I think when I go to a shop I will ask for the ducktail shape it looks very nice
Excellent video as always, thank you for your time Matty. It’s a huge pleasure to have you here in RU-vid. I wish I could rock a long beard but past the first month I look uglier than I’m already am hahaha 🤷🏻♂️. Have a great day and come visit Spain.
My suggestion is getting a makeup mirror. It's lighted for better visibility and it's got 3 mirrors. One for face on and one for each side of your face.
Thanks Matty! I’ve been checking EVERY day for this video since you responded to my comment last week and said you were working on editing it! THANK YOU!
Just found your channel, I have never been to a barber and pretty satisfied with my own work but always helpful to watch these kinda videos. Will definetly come back to your channel!
I recently hacked about 8 inches off my beard, I used to use beard rings and left if alone mostly, no trimming, shaving for about 20 years. I'm now Learning to start over, I'm thinking about this style as mine looks very blocky, and kind of starts to split in two down the middle. I use scissors, not sure I'd like to risk the clippers. But hey it will grow back, eventually. Great content, subbed.
Im trying to grow my beard out as well and ive been enjoying your videos. Very helpfull with how to cut and style. Ive messed up so many times and had start growing from scratch 😂😅 Keep up the good work :)
Hello I found out that if you use a second hand for free hand technique you won’t cut in the beard so often making it easier to do your beard. Can you please like this for the love of beard ? So that more people don’t ruin their beards by cutting into them.
Great tutorial! Thank you! I'm doing my 3rd trim now on this style. I love it. And if you mess up a little, guess what? It grows back. Looking forward to checkin out your other videos. All the best.
I am so glad I came across your RU-vid channel! After watching this video, I can’t believe how good my beard turned out . Also , The super dry beard paste is the best by far, just got it today . I Just wanted to say cheers and thank you 🙏 . Keep being awesome.
I just did the Kratos trim at home and it looks great, too bad you cant post pics in comments but i want to say thank you, i went from a hobo to a god of war thanks to you😊
This took some courage to try at home going from a square shape to a triangle and having never touched the shelf myself - but it turned out great! Possibly the best beard trim I’ve had and certainly the cheapest haha. I feel like after a week I already want to touch it up tho - does that sound about right? It seems like a different animal just keeping it neat vs a major transition - perhaps a video on general maintenance for those that would prefer to do it once a week to keep it in check rather than wait a month for it to get unruly and then do an overhaul. I am also bald so for me I find i need to touch up my sideburns to fade to bald even after a few days (I shave my head every day) which in turn be throwing off the rest of it as it isn’t all growing in unison
Thank you so much for this video. I"ve been struggling a lot with my beard lately, and this is the exact style I've wanted to do. (not necessarily because of Kratos, just that pointed look to the beard) but I had no idea what it was even called. Definitely looking forward to giving this a try!
Thank you very much! I am struggeling with my beard for a time, wanting a longer look but no barber succeed. I stumbled upon your vid by the YT algorithm and has to say: Nice one YT! Was very helpful and i am definatly coming back watching more of your - pretty and stylish - videos :D
I appreciate your videos .I am in a halfway house in "nofuknwher" Pennsylvania and I literally have a small army of former addicts looking good. Thank you.
This was really useful video again. Thanks especially commenting that trimming your own beard might or is more challenging than trimming someone others beard. Good stuff !
Amazing insights. You make it look easy with all your experience, so the advice about getting to the barber is the best. Thanks! You’re doing a brilliant job.
