While replacing the fuel injectors in my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7 V6, I accidentally broke the short hose to the PCV valve. This caused a huge vacuum leak and the engine to idle extremely high. Troubleshoot High Idle. What codes? P0507 was the code.
I would really appreciate your smashing that "Applaud" button and leaving a little something if this video helped you. Thanks!

Had same code and it was definitely a vaccume leak. Checked my pcv line and turns out BOTH ends were completely done for. Switch both and solved my problem… thanks for the video!

Three weeks have gone by I still have that same code. I changed the PCV, the hose (same one, same exact hose as yours lol said it’s was for ford), new throttle body and gasket, no vacuum leaks, and I still have the code

@@OurSimpleAdventures my last resort is to disconnect the ground battery terminal and let it sit overnight. It’ll reset the computer and all codes won’t be remembered. I used to work for Chrysler and I had a customer bring his car in because a CE light kept coming on after repaired, so we did that route. It worked!

If a hose is backed up with a clamp of some type Vaseline is cool. If it's held on by compression I use spit. It's at "arm's reach," free, and dries out.

Same code on my 2007 Jeep Liberty. Hoping it's something simple like this. Taking it to a mechanic on Thursday.

@@OurSimpleAdventures went to one mechanic. He reset the computer which basically did nothing after the Jeep went through the drive cycles again it came back. I took it to the Jeep dealer here. They told me I had a radiator leak and I needed to fix that first and that could be causing P0507(total BS I think). I'm going to check to see if I can locate the PCV host and see if I can visually see if there is any damage to it. It's really getting hard to find good mechanics here in Atlanta.

@@wlouisharris Radiator leak causing it? Right. Wow it sounds like Atlanta is hurting for decent trustworthy mechanics. That's why I try to do everything myself. RU-vid is a great resource! Let us know what you find.

Car was idling high went to check for leaks an the pcv hose broke in 3 pieces hopefully when it get's a bit warmer and I install it will fix my issue it would go all the way to 41 mph without touching the gas undrivable!

My VW cc does a similar thing but one of the vacuum lines are completely missing and it’s showing a check engine light I’m wondering if what’s missing is this PCV valve I was told by the dealer it was maybe the throttle body but after they cleaned it the car does the same thing

I've had no codes on my '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee but her idle will surge randomly after a few minutes of idling or she will stall (shes only stalled once in a parking spot), I'm wondering if this could be my issue of a crack in one of the PCV valves. Other causes I've found could be my IAC or the Throttle Body.
@OurSimpleAdventures
@OurSimpleAdventures 4 года назад
Hi Amy, I'm guessing since it's random it probably isn't the PCV Valve or a vacuum leak as mine wasn't random at all. After I started it, it pretty much went straight to 1500-2000rpm and stayed there. PCV valves are cheap if you want to start there to rule it out. Thanks for the question! i have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. my check engine light came on and i had a P0507 code for high idle. i replaced the throttle body. check engine still on. i replaced the PCV valve. check engine still came on and still showing the P0507 code. what could be the problem?!
@OurSimpleAdventures
@OurSimpleAdventures 5 лет назад
Jason, I would also check the PCV hose and other vacuum lines. But I also found this on www.carobdcode.com/p0507-jeep-idle-air-control-system-rpm-higher-than-expected P0507 JEEP Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected Possible causes - Dirty throttle body - Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged - Faulty Electric throttle control actuator - Intake air leak - Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve Tech description If there are no intake leaks, clean throttle body, adjust engine idle and erase engine code. If the code comes back you may have to replaced the Electric Throttle Control Actuator (Motor) to repair the problem. Good luck! Come back and let us know what you find!
