That’s too low for any marching drum in any style. But I’m with you on not liking corps style tuning either. It’s too high and too dead. There’s no projection because they muffle them to death.

@@markchestersales3894 There's resources everywhere to make your band sound really good. I have alot of my time devoted to my own projects (currently building a bass drum prototype which has some neat features that no company ever had). For drumline, your players need to know basic rudiments, Double stroke roll, patata, paradiddle, parradiddlediddle, flams and flam taps. They need to make the difference between accents and taps VERY CLEAR, exaggerate dynamics without overplaying. Most importantly play 8th notes in time, be able to subdivide and play exactly when they need to.
