Thank you for this, after watching Sourena Sefati I wanted to figure this out. Watching closely the notes I saw were: D♯ 158.2 Hz +28 cents F 349.2 Hz +0 cents / 176.9 Hz +22 cents G 784.1 Hz +0 cents A 438.7 Hz-5 cents A♯ 465.8 Hz -1 cents / 233.6 Hz +4 cents C 523.4 Hz +0 cents / 262.2 Hz +4 cents D 587.0 Hz +0 cents / 146.6 Hz -2 cents D♯ 158.2 Hz +28 cents F 349.3 Hz +0 cents Which with some analysis appears to be very close to Phrygian in pure intonation, and the sharps are actually flats. But I'm not sure if C is supposed to be 9/5 or 16/9 since the frequency above puts it half way in the middle. Can someone confirm? I'm pretty sure one of these is right: D:1/1 E♭:27/25 F:6/5 G:4/3 A:3/2 B♭:8/5 C:9/5 D:1/1 E♭:27/25 F:6/5 G:4/3 A:3/2 B♭:8/5 C:16/9
Hello I'm from Japan!!!Thanks for up how to tuning. I bought the santour in your store last year and I played it at kid's class and enjoyed♬ but after it as I was hearing different sound,I need tuning.I'll try it (^o^)
elinize sağlık... araştırdığım kararıyla hangi bölgenin muziğini çalacaksanız, o tip düzen yapabiliyorsunuz.. hint muziği için farklı çin muziği ve turk muziği için de farklı dizilim olur
Wonderful! How can I know the key to my Santoor? Also, how to adjust in Esfahan and Chahargah modes? I was trying to adjust my Santoor, but the top broke, so I'm in the process of fixing. (Gluing, changing parts etc..) Thanks!
@@SalaMuzik Thanks for the answer! The top is 88cm x 34 cm. I would like to play with a kamancheh in GCGC (also tanbour in CG) mostly esfahan and chahargah modes. Is it possible if you could check the signature of it? There is also a crack on the top plate, is this possible to fix? ( drive.google.com/open?id=1xEKQ6jERtv6Ympe2CgMZYUED0rgqhWrL ) Thanks! Teşekkürler!
That's a bit unusual but the best way would be to follow the same intervals between the notes (i.e. stick to G minor scale), and ignore the indications for the 9th bridge note given here by Sedat since you only have eight bridges. In any case, you don't "lose" a note since the 9th bridge F on the bass row is also found at the 2nd bridge on medium row, and the 9th bridge, also F, on medium row have the same note as the 2nd bridge of treble row. All in all, you only really "lose" the highest note, F on the 9th bridge of the treble row. However, given the unusual number of bridges in your santur, it's hard to assess whether it is also the right size for such a tuning. You may have to tune it lower or higher if it is a unusual smaller or bigger model, and as such was made, say, for playing in A (3rd bridge) instead of G (3rd bridge). Without seeing the instrument, I can't say if you have the equivalent (in string length) of the 8 upper bridges of a regular 9 bridge santur (thus missing the lowest bridges), or the 8 highest bridges (other way around). As long as you remain prudent in your tuning, nothing should go too wrong :)
Zakaria Haffar thank you !!! I will try that. Tommorow maybe I will put a link with a photo of the Santoor. It’s a Turkish one but I have no idea why they made it with missing bridges...
