The title of this video is a bit misleading. Please do not attempt what i do here if you're unsure about what youre doing, or are worried about damaging your yoyo.
The idea for the Ring Alignment Tool is taken from YjYoyo:
• 쓰레기 상태의 요요를 고성능으로 바꿔주는...
Special thanks to Andy and Nova.

Good video! But there are other ways to actually improve on the vibe, like changing axle positions or even changing the axle out along with the bearing swap. Also if the previous owner has dinged it before and it's got a flatspot, pretty sure the vibe at the rims can't be totally removed because of the damage

i dont really believe axle does anything to improve vibe. I've tested it plenty and its almost inconsequential.

yeah ive seen centering axles on yoyo rewind. potentially do a video comparrison for science?

i also often flip the bearing and axle to test all 4 different configs to find the smoothest. somtimes makes no difference and somtimes helps

This video is so helpful! I especially appreciate the bit about lubricant. A little bit goes a long way!

This video provoked a thought for me. I used the following method on a Vulfgang and cured a really nasty pulse vibe. Take a good pair of vernier calipers, ones that can reliably measure down to around 10 microns. Measure the width of the yo-yo around different points of the circumference. If you find a point that is definitely wider then check the corresponding width on the opposite side to see if it is a little less wide than the other points on the circumference. If you find this, then there is obviously a slight buckle in the yo-yo. I marked the widest point with a Sharpie marker and then used a vice to GENTLY compress this point. I was lucky and got the exact pressure needed to make the circumference consistent around the entire edge on my first attempt. Once this was achieved - NO MORE PULSE VIBE!!! 🙂 You may need to measure and compress several times but don't go in there like a brute: take it in small steps until you manage to get a consistent width. I hope this will be helpful to others out there.

That's more lube than I use, lol! You would definitely know better. Thanks for the video, really great stuff. I was actually thinking about trying the YJyoyo thing (or carefully stepping on a bi-metal half) the other day. I'll give the hammer tap method a shot, feels a little safer.

Excellent video. Didn't know about the tool to fix ring alignment/fit - adding to my toolbox. Question: do you recommend using plumber's tape on the axle for a more secure fit to reduce vibe, or should we stay away from it?

Thanks. In my experience a loose or fit axle has nothing to do with vibe. The moment the yoyo is put together, the axle is trapped in place unable to move anyway.
