I remember discovering your store in New Haven while working out of town back in late 80s early 90s from muncie ...it was awsome to find an archery shop dedicated to traditional archery. Was bummed when store shut cause I didn't know about New place in Ashley. Visited couple times always wished I worked there instead of excavating. But I only buy any archery items from you guys. Thanks for being there all these years 44rth bow season around the corner! Love my Tomahawk! And my old Sky Trophy longbow #572!

Can you do a review on the Fred Bear super grizzly asap please ? A speed comparison between a 40# and 50# would really help

Thank you for the request, but I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to get to this bow right now. We will add it to the list though.

Jonathan, you mentioned adding weight to the knock end of the arrow but did not show how weight can be applied. You did mention adding weight to the knock end would typically be less weight applied than a similar situation on the point end. I’ve been an archer for 65 yrs. (75 yrs.old) and have used aluminum arrows for 60 yrs. I’ve not seen a way to add knock weight other than golfers lead tape which(I might say) I’ve never done. Help me understand your comment

My apologies for not going into more detail here. We have our brass washers: www.3riversarchery.com/brass-arrow-weight-washers.html that will work for most arrows. For standard carbon arrows you can use Gold Tip's system: Nock www.3riversarchery.com/gold-tip-weight-system-nock-adapter.html for wood arrows you can drill the shaft and add metal rods. For an aluminum arrows you can use aluminum Uni-bushings, www.3riversarchery.com/uni-bushings-for-arrow-nocks.html, or the brass washers. The neat thing with Gold Tip's nock adapter is it is tapped to accept screw-in weights, so you can really fine tune the weight with it.

I currently have 12 28" 500 spine, 6.9 gpi arrows that I got from Walmart (mossy oak). Also have 9 500 spine, 7.4 gpi arrows (Gold Tip, Warrior). They started out 30", but had them cut down to 28", looks and feels more natural to me. [the mossy oak has vain fletchings, the warrior has feather] As for the arrow head, or field tip whatever you want to call it, I currently have 3 different shapes with slightly different lengths that are all 100 grain. Last time I shot the warrior arrows, regardless of length, they went up and to the right from where I was wanting to hit. How would I go about fixing that?

Is there any real archer's paradox on a bow that has a shelf where the arrow is more or less centerline on the bow? Is this a good or bad thing from the standpoint of keeping an arrow flying to its intended target?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery 2 года назад
The arrow will still flex but not needing to wrap around the shelf you will end up with needing a stiffer spine arrow. Which isn't overly a problem, just requires tuning the arrow to the bow.

If I start with dynamic spine calculator, will it take less time and less effort to tune my bow? Because it says the result is perfect, although there some variables with archers form, so I can start close and tune my set up in far less time.

Yes, the spine calculator will be great with getting you "on paper" to the right spine. It is not a guarantee, but it should get you started on the right foot.

Hi, older video but someone may know: If I'm having knock high when I bare shaft tune, I'm assuming that means I need to lower my anchor point? Thanks.
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery 10 месяцев назад
Depending how far back you shooting yes, a nock high can mean you need to lower your nock point. Though, a bit of nock high is common as without the fletchings, the heavy weight of the point will have the bare shaft start to drop sooner than normal. So if only a slight nock high, try shooting from closer, or fletch one up and see if any problem after you have feathers/vanes on the shaft.

If your spine is to stiff on you arrow, how do you adjust it?
@3RiversArchery
@3RiversArchery 10 месяцев назад
You can add point weight to help weaken an arrow's spine. Either by heavier insert, or heavier point weights. We also have these handy adapters: www.3riversarchery.com/thread-in-weight-adapters.html Though you can see all of our weight options here: www.3riversarchery.com/buy/arrows/arrow-building/weight-systems
