I apologize in advance I'm camera shy once that thing is on I get all discombobulated and scrambled I'll get better with time I hope!!
OK so now that the turbo is on the car what we need to do is tune cis k-jet system and add some more fuel. Now before I go any further I want to make it clear that im going to show you the basics on how to turn up the fuel on your cis k-jet and show you what I did to my car to make it run right with that being said you'll need these tools to start with 3mm alen key to adjust the air fuel meter flap on the top of the kjet system next the fuel distributor and you'll need a flathead screwdriver and a 2mm alen key to work on the eha valve to start with I like to mess with the air fuel meter flap 1st you'll need to understand how it works long lesson short clock wise more fuel counterclockwise less fuel so we will need to turn it clockwise now when you turn it only turn it a quarter at a time and know where you start so if you go to far or something isn't right you can always go back to where it was originally I personally had to only turn mine a 1 and half turn and it was good but my car was a little on the rich side from the get so you might need to turn it a little more maybe a little less I recommend after you adjust this you take it for a ride and see how the afr look mine was running at about 11.4 under boost if I'm not mistaken btw if you don't have a afr gauge on your car I highly recommend you get one without it your kinda tuning in the dark but it's safer to run a little more on the rich side than it is on the lean side now that you've done that you might need to add some fuel to the eha valve by doing that what you'll need to do is take off the 2 flathead screws that hold it in and take off the flathead cover screw on the back after you do that there will be a 2mm alen you can adjust if needed I didn't have to do it to mine personally I like where my afrs were but if you turn it clock wise increase the fuel and counterclockwise decreases the fuel ONLY turn this 1/8th of a turn at a time this is a very small screw and you dont want to over turn it 1/4 of a turn is ALOT on this so just to be safe turn it 1/8 of a turn the put it back together and test it out and have fun

I just don't understand how the air fuel meter works with air pressure coming from the turbo pushing on the flap. I did a turbo set up on a VW Rabbit which has the same Bosch fuel injection system only difference is the air fuel meter goes upward not downward like Mercedes-Benz. And I had the inlet side of the turbo connected too the air fuel meter to control the fuel pressure. I like your setup and thinking about Turbin my M103 3.0L

Excellent. Looks to be a nice and simple conversion and a testament to the engineering of the Bosch K-Jet system that it can adjust so easily to the boost. Out of interest do you get more or less gas mileage on a tank? Only interested as I have a 300GE and its a big heavy vehicle, so was thinking this may improve the mpg a little by helping it get up to speed.
@thebenzhouse
@thebenzhouse 5 месяцев назад
Make sure you get a afr to test it make sure your tune is dialed in and I would say I got about the same gas mileage and a 300ge that's awesome I use to have a 2door 230ge it was a slug 🤣 couldn't find the 300ge I would take that over the new ones anyday

Good video. I have a volvo 240 Turbo with K-jet lambda making decent power. My air meter plate pulls up with turbo vacuum. How does this work with boost pressure pushing on it? Seems like it would go rich at very low boost. Did you have to raise control pressure proportionate to boost?
@hollandibolygo9172
@hollandibolygo9172 6 месяцев назад
On all Mercedes engines with K-jet and KE-jet, the airflowmeter plate moves downwards. If that's what you mean.
@242bleek
@242bleek 6 месяцев назад
@@hollandibolygo9172 What I mean is if you're pushing boost pressure over the metering plate it seems like it would push it all the way down causing it to go rich. I thought the metering plates were only meant to see vacuum.
@hollandibolygo9172
@hollandibolygo9172 6 месяцев назад
@@242bleekNow I understand what you mean. Without a turbo, of course, it works under a small vacuum, but its task is to react according to the amount of air flow. It can respond to the amount of air flow under pressure or under vacuum. I don't know for sure, but if the turbo builds up the pressure gradually, not immediately it doesn't push the plate down completely right away I think. More or less, the ECU also continuously adjusts the mixture according to the lambda readings I agree that it probably works better if the turbo sucks air through it, not blowing it

On a calm drive is a turbo saving gas? I was thinking without a turbo you are hitting the gas pedal say to get to 90MPH using X amount of gas. But with a Turbo U probably only need to press say half the pedal using only half the Gas? is this correct??
@thebenzhouse
@thebenzhouse Год назад
I mean it all depends because your adding fuel for the turbo because your letting in more air so you can't have one without the other that's when you'll start to choke out the engine or have it sputter BUT someone could probably explain it much better than I could for sure 😉

@antonRCF Год назад
@@thebenzhouse About ignition, do you have stroboscopic lamp to check the ignition timing? (Ignition timing light) I'm not sure the year of this m103, but there were installed two types of engine temperature sensors , this two pins (green) or one 4 pins . So one wire from two pin goes to ECU cis , another one to ignition module. The same this 4 pin two cables go in ecu two in ignition module. When engine cold, it takes more fuel and more air, that's why ignition timing on cold engine is earlier. The same this turbo. You can put resistance to the wires which goes to ignition modul . To make car run better this turbo. This out proper timing there is a high risk of detonation inside the cylinders

@@antonRCF honestly how its running right now is perfect I wouldn't say there is any need to mess with the ignition but that is good to know for sure if I ever go over 7 to 8lbs I just go to efi and do a full stand alone to make it easy for myself it took a while to learn how the kjet worked but I would say it's very good I'll take lots more videos ect of the car rolling down the street its just hard to get people to hold the camera

How tf have you been doing this for a long time with no issues? 1 and a half turn on the af mixture?!
@thebenzhouse
@thebenzhouse Год назад
It's different with each eha or cis I've gotten some cars that have rich mixture and some with a lean mixture it's all going to depend like I stated I can't say turn it once or twice it all depends on what the afr gauge says
@brittanywright9646
@brittanywright9646 Год назад
@@thebenzhouse By afr gauge, you mean duty-cycle reading I assume. Even still, to automatically go and start adjusting the mixture....leaking injectors, non-functioning csv, vacuum leak, stuck intake valve, clogged/dirty fuel components, weak fuel pump, bad fpr, bad solder joint on the ovp, faulty cts, etc, etc....the KE system is great when it works, but literally any one thing can throw it out of whack so I'm shocked that you just would randomly start adjusting the mixture on the system. 🤷‍♂

@brittanywright9646 many many people have boosted there cars with kjet it's not a new practice just need to know how to mess with it is all yes of course there are alot of variables at hand it would be better to just go efi but it can be done with cis and it's fairly easy once you do it a few times it's very straight forward
