I’m a beginner and I’ve been struggling to tune my C string for like an hour. Always showed me D and I got so frustrated but it was because of my clip tuner settings. This video helped a lot 😭😭😌

My Lohanu Tenor Ukulele arrived yesterday. I'm a complete novice and haven't played an instrument since I played the euphonium as a kid, I'm now 39 😅. Even though I haven't got it tuned properly yet, this video is extremely helpful. I will be re-watching when I have another crack at tuning it later today. Thank you, Joseph.

I have the Ibanez Clip-on tuner PU3 and I got so frustrated because there were no buttons or settings or anything and the tuner would automatically switch to a certain note if I went too high or too low. So it showed me how far I am from tuning the F# perfectly even though I wanted to tune it to C 😭 But I eventually figured it out and I'm now ready to play yay
My daughter just got a ukulele for Christmas and I had no idea how to tune it thanks alot for making this video. I would not have been able to tune it without watching this.

C =chromatic is the safest mode to tune any instrument because it shows the half and full note. U and G only shows the notes within the tuning range of the ukulele and Guitar. So what happen when the strings are vibrating outside the range...it don't display properly as what we term blindspot. I have novice who tune till the ukulele string broke in the U mode.

Thank you so much for your video. I saw a couple others first, but didn't quite get how to tune my brand new ukulele ( Got it one hour ago). Because it´s a new instrument it gets detuned very easily ( I think), but I'll just keep tuning it and practicing! Greetings from Chile :)
Hi Ana, Thanks for leaving a comment. Yes, it does take a few to several days for the strings to stretch out and settle in. We recommend that you tune your ukulele several times a day for the first several days. If you play it a few times for shorter durations per week then this process can take longer. After that, please don't assume that you never have to tune it again. Any stringed instruments need tuning regularly. Sometimes certain strings go out of tune faster than others (ie 1st A string). But they will all eventually settle in. We hope this helps. Kindest regards, Natadel of Lohanu
Can you change the settings to C mode or Chromatic mode? Chromatic mode is just a tuner for any instrument and also for any note, so it's a little more versatile than the Uc mode which is only for tuning the open strings of the ukulele. If it still doesn't work, please email us so we can assist you further.

Hi i just got my concert lohanu ukulele and i believe it came stringed wrong. from top to bottom they are coming up A-C-C-A.... how do i know what string to put where to restring it? also.. when trying to tune the upper C- there is absolutely no change in the sound.. i believe it is deffective..
Hi Thalia, Thanks for leaving a comment. This is Natadel from Lohanu Ukulele. What is happening is that the strings are so off tune that it is showing a different note on the tuner. In order to assist you better, can you tell us what notes are being displayed by the tuner for each string (top to bottom)? Please email us at support@lohanu.com so we could assist you better. Kind regards, Natadel
Hello, My Ukulele's G & C strings are in tune; however, my E string shows D# and my A string shows G# on my tuner. How do I correct this? Thanks in advance. Mary
Hi Mary, Thank you for your email and letting us know about the tuning. What is happening is that the strings are so off tune that it is showing as a different note on the tuner. Please try this. G string (top string) correct note, fine tune to the middle. C strings (2nd to top) correct note, fine tune to the middle. E string (2nd to bottom) tighten the knob at about 1 full turn. Then it will detect it as E, and then fine tune to the middle. A string (bottom string) tighten the knob about 1 full turn and it will detect it as A, and then fine tune to the middle. Please understand that you need to tune the ukulele quite a lot in the beginning, at least several times for several days before the strings settle in. Again, this is normal for any new strings to stretch out. Also, in a ukulele the top string is supposed to be a thin string. Some people think that the thickest string needs to be at the top (like the guitar), but this is not the case with the ukulele. The ukulele has a thin string at the top and bottom string. The ukulele has a high G string (thin string on top) on purpose and is what gives the ukulele its happy cheery sound. Let us know if this fixes everything. If it does not, please let us know so we can help you further. Kindest regards, Natadel
