Thank you for making a video that gets right to the point. Super well explained and i dont have to scrub thru 10 minutes of BS.

Great tutorial. Kiteboarding season starts for me next week. Hopefully I can master the transitions rather than doing water starts when I want to change direction. thx

These are great videos. I'd like to see a detailed video on riding upwind. Most other videos on this are a bit basic: look upwind, open your shoulders, sheet out a bit, and that's it. It would be good to go into the nuances: e.g pros and cons of higher speed but slightly broader course, low kite and high edge angle, i.e. riding free and fast, vs slower speed, higher kite, pointing higher, exploiting reduced luffing effect from apparent wind etc...

Nice video. Quick and to the point. I'm still working on staying up consistently. Only had 2 lessons. But I know this will be coming soon

I had a breakthrough with this today, and the key for me was turning the board to be ready for the new direction BEFORE the kite gets near 12 … so almost not changing its position much… I then zoomed it across from 11 to 2 with the board pointing roughly down wind before quickly going back to the upwind position. I’ve been trying for last few sessions and kept screwing up by bringing the kite up to 12 whilst edging upwind to a halt and then bringing kite from 12 to 2 for new direction. This seems to result in me sinking or supermanning

I found not going to 12 but instead keeping the kite at 11 while changing stance a lot easier. Also sliding the board down wind instead of a dead stop to prevent sinking is making the timing less critical. Just my opinion as a beginner.

Hi Sam ! A small suggestion for making your videos even more valuable and useful : I consider myself the right target for your videos, as i am searching some materials to get me prepared before even taking the first lessons. Though your videos approach basic and very valuable topics for any begginer, and they are also put in the correct order ( first learn the body drag, then learn the water start, then learn how to slow down and start, then learn how to steer ) for me its impossible to leave with the lesson learned after watching your video since you reffer to controlling the kite , as we would know how to do it, but we absolute begginners , don't have a clue how to " drag your kite into the wind" " put your kite a 12 o'clock" and so on. We just see a bar and have no clue how to use it, at this point. It would be good some step by step easy to follow instructions also in this direction, such as : " pull the left side of the handle in the direction of the wind , until you see the kite lifting up. Continue until it reaches 12 o'clock. Then.."

You should take lessons. It also provides you with the basic knowledge you are talking about.
