I live in middle Tennessee and every year I need to have a smoke test.. So the question is when I'll do all this and I take my car to the office to take my emission test...the car passes the emission test??? Thanks
koo, now do you by any chance kno how to get rid of annoying oil light beep.. the scanner did detect any issues and the noise is none stop really appreciate the help bud
Hi - my mechanic has checked and there are no errors reported but the engine check light stays on. I have tried this technique to clear it, but after I start the engine, the engine check light comes on again after a few seconds. Any ideas how to clear this erroneous error?
You may need a better code reader because they are not all created equally. One of lesser value may not be able to access the code, but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem.
I don't really get what your accomplishing?? All u have to do is disconnect the NEG cable to the battery. Does the exact same thing... or am I missing something???
Hey I put in a k and n air intake like urs and my check light is on I am going to try this but my question is how long will this work for? Is this a temporarily fix?
I had the exact same problem with my air sensor. I had a p0171 code. I cleaned the mass air sensor and the light did not go off on its own so I tried to turn the check engine light off by pulling the fuses like how i demonstrate. Even after pulling the fuses light stayed on as if there was an immediate problem. After about 10 miles the computer turned the light off on its own after recognizing correct air flow. Idk if this helps but it has happened to me to and I'm the one who made the video
If your Powertrain Control Module has been replaced with an upgrade that has its own settings that are imbedded in the module you should be okay. It'll probably erase it's memory, not its settings but honestly I'm really not positive. Instead of trying my method to shut the check engine light off you may just want to go to an autozone, rent a scanner and clear it. For you that may be safer. But if you think about it whenever i clear my light my factory pcm is fine. It just clears the memory.
I tore up my stock H3 06 3.5L air filter so I bought one from a canyon in the junk yard but I noticed the sensors were different, still works but I have a CEL light that the sensor is getting low air would this hel
Sounds like everyone is having the same problem but are having different results. Ask the experts, GM Mechanics. If what ya'll been trying, the video is telling the truth works for some and not for others.
How do you stop the oil light to stop coming? Any fuse i can remove? And yes i already changed oil and all but i need to probably change something else.. just need to stop beeping for inspection
@@whipster775 i changed mine already. It did stop the beeping but keeps saying to change oil on dashboard. I did already changed it and reset code but keeps coming back
I did try this, waiting for least a minute before placing the fuses back in and it still didn't work. I did manage to still make the light shut off by taking off the red battery cable and waiting least 30 seconds. Then after 15 or so miles it came back on...
or u can just remove the wire clips going to the fuse boxes with the car turned off and then put them back in... then start the car... all warning lights gone works on any car
No the light will not reappear if you wait the 20 seconds. If you pull the fuses and put them back too fast the check engine light will stay on. I'm pretty sure it wipes out the memory completely. If you have a serious problem like a p0300 code it won't be too long before the light goes back on (And yes i had to change all the cylinder heads) but had the code for two years and it would come on at random. My car is fixed now and the light hasn't come back on since. And I found out how to clear the engine light on my own. But no matter what you have to fix the problem. Btw GM paid for half of the fix on my cylinder heads. Only if you give them a good fight!!
I got a 06 h3 and it's had nothing but problems and the worst part is the dam frame is rusted really bad holes cracks now I can't even get rid of it and get anything out of it but to sell off for parts gm junk
Its either not getting power or the radio is broken. Also could be the fuse. Check the fuse if not the fuse pull the radio and check the 12v incoming power in the harness. If you're getting power it's the radio.
It will reset and engine light will come back on / taking fuse out or unhooking battery clears the computer temporarily. The Engine light will come back on. Suggest run the codes to find out why you have a engine light !
Alguien me podria decir en espanolporque vuelve a prender El check engine .... Si... See Borra... Pero despues de una semana vuelve a ensenderse gracias amigos
You can do that or jus disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and wait 5 min. That works too! I also installed a k&n air filter like yours and the stupid engine light came on!!! It's reading a lean code.. Looks like I'm going to have to go back to my stock air intake.. What waste of time and money
Well, that didn't work at all. Thanks. Best part is, I KNOW that there's nothing wrong with my H3. I drive it thousands of miles. Pulling fuses did nothing.
It's very likely that you DO have an issue and that's why it's not working. You can buy a scan tool pretty cheap these days, or just go to Auto Zone/auto parts store. Auto Zone will scan it for free and even give you a printout of the codes and what they mean. If nothing is wrong, the CEL in your specific case may require you pull a third fuse. There's where the mystery comes in. However, you could make an educated guess as to which one to pull. Sometimes you can disconnect the battery for a few minutes and it will clear the CEL. Sometimes not. Best of luck with that!
i tried that and doesn't work for me. maybe it works if you keep the battery disconnected for a certain amount of time but i don't know. After you pull the fuses it is important to wait at least 20 seconds or the light will not go off.
