When laptops are not repairable anymore, we sometimes call it dead laptops. we can still repurpose some parts especially the screen, turning it into an external desktop monitor for our computers, we can also use it as a secondary or dual monitor. This is a step by step process on how you can build an awesome DIY screen from old or broken laptops. Have fun and enjoy it!

Great use for old laptop screens! Unfortunately the converter and power adapter seem to cost as much as a bigger/used LCD desktop monitor. Two suggestions for the cable placement: - if you make a rectangular/circular hole in the middle of the clipboard to pass the LCD cable through, it will not be visible in the bottom. - if the controller board is placed closer to the middle of the clipboard, the VGA/HDMi/DVI cable will not be visible on the side.
@Jesussaxxx

What converter and power adaptar do you mean? i jus ordered the controller and you can use the laptop charger that came with it to power the controller i believe, all costing me less than 30 bucks

@tennishistoryandresultsdat4540
I think that the idea of this video is that you ALREADY HAVE this screen, so it comes with no extra cost.
@bbay1977
@bbay1977 Год назад
@@tennishistoryandresultsdat4540 The idea for that video was to show someone how they could take a used laptop screen and convert it to a standing monitor for eother a desktop or for a laptop that has a way to connect to a external screen. I have aboit 10 screens I salvaged from old laptops that are outdated and not worth using. That board then was $25 without the power supply. I was going to build one to use with my laptop cause my screen when out. The cost of a new screen for my laptop only costed me was 46 with free shipping. Now something like this will help me to build arcades since I have been hoarding screens and parts for them for the past 3 years. This would make them light weight and cheaper for me to build cause I could have them up and running for only $25. My intentions were to build bartop arcadesl. I just never started it when all the stuff hit the fan back in 2020 and shut everything down. Great video though.
