Hello. That is called PIH. Or, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. That happens from: 1. Not prepping Olive (or darker) skin with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks prior to a peel. 2. Applying too strong of a peel and causing too much inflammation. 3. Getting sun rays on your skin that was just treated. SPF 50 and shade are necessary. I would guesstimate that they did a far too high % on your skin. Something like a TCA 20 or higher. It is best to start lower with a 7 or 13% at 2 layers. Then each month you add ON one more layer. There are also other acids to use. If you are dealing with pigmentation .. then Jessners is the better choice. This is layered just like TCA. ... but, it works for pigmentation and acne better. There are also lighter acids like Mandelic 40 that can be done 1x weekly or 1x every OTHER week. I highly suggest EO week so that you can use your daily treatments on the off week. With our FB now having a retinoid IN it - we suggest stopping 2-3 days prior to a peel.

I think they are wonderful. We have a vast variety of tools at our fingertips .. and so many are great to use right alongside of chemical peels. I suggest either doing a series of one and then moving onto the other ,... or you can alternate them. Just be sure to wait LONG ENOUGH in between treatments. Follow the recommendations of the LAST treatment that you did. Follow that and don't sneak in treatments in between treatment wait times. :)

@@PlatinumSkinCare I recently tried the clear and brilliant laser and I don't see a difference, but I was told that most of the time you need to have 3 treatments to see any results so and I will try 2 more. Since I'm a fitz 4 I decided to go with this laser since it is safer for darker skin tones. And if I don't see any results after 2 more than I will try prf microneedling. Also, I'm curious to know if you've ever tried any kind of laser or microneedling? Thanks🙂

This can happen. Also, if you put deodorant under your arms this could aggravate the skin after a peel and cause darkening. Hopefully. You’ll get an answer. I use hydroquinone to stop pigmentation on my face but I’m not sure it’s suitable for the under arm area. I have seen people get good results using lemon under the armpits, not directly after a peel of course. Search the issue (darkening of armpits) on RU-vid, I’m sure you’ll find some answers. My guess is you used deodorant when your pits were already sensitive and that is possibly what caused the hyperpigmentation.

Hello. Under Arms ... and ANY body part is a 4 week turnover. This is not completed ... even though you had some flaking a week in. Skin naturally turns darker prior to flaking. Then around days 10-14 the peeling will start. Expect that to go on another 2 weeks. At THAT point.... then we will take a look to be sure that the darkness is all gone. So do NOT worry until 30 days have passed. NOW ... after 30 days if you still have some darkness ... that is PIH. We always try to Prevent that by applying a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or Hydroquinone for 4 weeks PRIOR to performing the peel. Did you do this?

Stop your tretinoin 4-6 days PRIOR to applying a peel. Opt for the longer time frame if you ever experience sensitivity or irritation from your retinoid. When you are done flaking you can begin again. That is 6-10 days later.

@@ashwininakka8851 As long as it does not cause any irritation you may apply a treatment immediately following your peel application. Follow that with your Healing products and SPF. Stop use immediately if your skin is bothered and push the product use OFF until you are done flaking.
