I did a lot of reading about how to add shine to natural 4c hair or low porosity hair - and the answer is - you don't; it is the nature of our hair once all of the products dry. It will tend to look dry (low porosity hair), HOWEVER you can combat the dry feeling using products that contain humectants. Thank you! The sponge has been a life saver. I have started to put coconut oil in my hair after the gel so it wont be too crunchy and not as dry. For baby hair i use the eco styling gel.

Using as much Eco Gel as she did WILL make your hair flaky after it dries. You don't need to use that much and certainly not with the sponge.

If your hair is as short as my was in the video you can definitely use the sponge. I dont use the sponge now because my hair has grown out a lot. To avoid as much flakiness you can LOC the night before and add water and gel in the morning.

I had the same problem. The culprit is the Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I stopped using it and now my wash n go is on point. Easiest style ever!

To answer some concerns in this thread... I used the sponge to clump my curls together and add gel so that my curls will stay and not become frizzy. I used to co wash my hair every day because that's what I chose to do and my hair was short so it was easy. And no I didn't put gel in my hair every day. I don't understand why people get upset when others choose to do something to their OWN hair. *shrugs*
