Everyone has issues with this the first time usually, so i decided to show everyone how to properly do it. This model uses tabs on the bushings, some other models such as the MST axles use square bushings, just make sure the square body goes into the square slot in the case. Pretty self explanatory. Hope this helps anyone who has transaxle binding issues when put back together.

When reassembling, one trick that I use is to put the top of the case on, snug up the bolts, then go around all over the top case and lightly tap with a hunk of 2x4. This always has helped everything seat nicely...

Yep. can e used both ways too, when taking it apart you can hit it with a 2x4 to separate the case, no bolts holding it.

I like to use what's called an anerobic sealant when I reassemble them..it's like loctite that dries in the absence of air. It costs 2x of rtv probably ,but it cleans up so much easier if you have to open the trans again. whatever oozes inside the case won't harden and migrate thru the trans. If anything it'll go thru the oil and stay in a liquid or gel type of state. Sometimes it's nice to put a little oil on the case bolts too, if they came out with protest. Besides, it'll make it easier on ya next time you have to open it up again.

has anyone had the issue of it not lining up 100 % and when its together again it turns easy, and then hard, and then easy, then hard again ? i can never seem to get them back together the way it should be so it turns easy by hand

Thanks for this great video. I was not sure how to get the spring and ball back in. This vid is the only one I have found that address the issue. When I opened the case the ball was in the far right hole, but I have had all the gears out. I think I got in N and I am putting it back together. Will the ball just fall into the correct whole based on the gear it is in? Also should there be grease in the axle channels?between the spider gears and the bearing?? how much? thanks

i have a 920 series 7 speed and we took it apart, we cant get it back together, it seems spring loaded. now the ball bearing that is spring loaded to give the shift fork a clicky sensation came out. i am dealing with the same problem when you turn the pulley it locks up and then starts to lift the whole assembly out of the case. if anyone could help that would help alot.

also does the little triangle protrusion on the bushing have to be on the right or left side

How come you didn’t re-grease your transmission, I’m just curious unless you did it off-camera camera

Question for you. I have a bunton 48in walk behind mower and the guy I bought it from put a tractor transaxle on it and it drives but it drives in reverse so basically it'll only go forward in 1st gear which is reserve gear. Gears 1-5 work but they make the mower move in reverse. He said that's the only way it would fit. So my question is is there a way to take the trans axle apart and simply swap reverse and forward gears to be able to use gears 1-5 go move forwards instead of backwards?

Hope I didn't confuse you lol. The transaxle can only fit one way and I'm trying to change the way the trans spins in reverse to forwards and forward to reverse idk if this is possible lol but I figured I'd ask
