Its interesting how there needs to be a mixture of lessons and listening to native speakers. It's funny because when I started 3 years ago I found it impossible to understand natives. Simply put, you learn a word in the class, then wait till you hear it spoken. The more and more this happens the more you understand. There's no avoiding the fact that it is a very very gradual process like watching a plant grow. Most days for about 3 years I either watched 1 hour or more of lessons and also films and blogs. That would be at least 1000 hours exposed to the language and even so I know I'm far from fluent (in listening) and not as good at talking. It's a very strange and satisfying feeling when you get to the stage where you realise it's another language you understand. I'm still thinking even now 'so this is what it's like to speak/understand Russian'. I'm so glad I found your channel because in the past month I found my understanding getting to the stage where I actually can understand fast native speech. I know it sounds corny but it was almost a spiritual moment! Thanks so much! 😎👍
What I love about your videos is your repetition of words in different forms, cases and contexts. (скорость, язык, слух) It may not even be key to your lesson but you do this to make the journey easier. Thank you.
Думаю моя главная проблема является фразеологизмами и новыми контекстами. Например, какие слава могу использовать если я стремлюсь к аварии, полицейским, т.д. В ваше видео есть много простых слов, мне легко понимать. Но вы изменяете направление беседа, и вот и всё мне. Необыкновенный совет - ускорить видео. Такой совет приму 😁. Спасибо
I was riding my exercise bicycle and studying Russian when the notice for this video came across. Very good suggestions and advice! I am tryingi to be consistent again in my studies. I worked through your video about the St. Petersburng metro 2 or 3 years ago but didn't stay consistent, so now when I watch it, I can't 'process' many of the words. Thanks for continuing to make great content.
