Dear friends, thank you for watching! Some of you expressed concern that this video may be used maliciously by thieves. - I personally have had my car broken into twice. Never had the thieves bothered to carefully unlock my car. They simply busted out my driver window and quickly took whatever was inside. This video is intended to help people unlock their cars without breaking anything (including the law or the bank ;) The window in the first car is down while I'm trying to unlock it because the glass is tinted and you can't see anything through it (I apologize for the lack of realism :)
Nothing new here for car thieves, but then this only gets you into a car, it won't start it for u. Best technique for getting into a more modern car that isn't yours is using an RFID scanner to collect the remote opening code when someone parks. Set the code to a blank key fob and just open the car like you owned it. Still won't start the car, but seriously this wouldn't be teaching a real thief anything new(not even the ten year old ones).
I appreciate it, this is the 2nd time in 2 years my girlfriend has locked our keys in the car. I really don't want to call the non emergency number again because I do have the money for a locksmith this time but that's not where I really want to spend it.
Getting locked out is a very stressful thing for everyone. Thank you so much for taking your time to do all of these three helpful tips to help us out.
My dude. We spent the last hour with a slim jim and coat hangers only to find out the shoe string method worked within 5 min. You're a God! Thanks man. Subbed.
omg same and neighbors kept trying to help which I'm grateful but where doin more damage to my vehicle I tried the string method and it was fast simple and no damage to car.. now I carry a shoe string in magnet box under car 😆
You saved my life this evening. Locked the key in an oldsmobile alero with the engine running. First thing I did was search Utube . Found your video real quick. Copied exactly what you did and I was in the car under two minutes!!! People watch this guy because what he does here actually works. You can pay a tow truck driver 112.00 dollars here in Vancouver or you can try these methods!!!
1 hour ago I closed the door and my 22 old month son and my keys where inside the car, my car is a VW POLO from 1991 so I used the shoelice and knot methode , I managed to open my door in 10 min! So gratefull for this video!!
I ran into this video tonight because of an emergency and the first option truly works! Left a car running to warm up with driver door closed, but after a couple of minutes the locks randomly kicked in and I was screwed. A traditional flat shoe lace is what will only work. Follow the instructions with lots of patience with a really tight knot and you should hopefully pull it off too. It saved me lots money instead of calling a locksmith and I've also learned a new trick. So thank you so much!
I was brought here out of need and the first one with the shoe string helped me get my granny's car unlocked! I had to improvise by tying a piece of thin wire onto the middle of the shoestring because the slipknot kept closing as I slid it in, however I made a little loop out of wire and secured it into the middle of the string, then slipped it through, did a very small amount of fishing and I had the knob pulled up!! Thanks for making this vid!
@@velvetstorm4563 about the width of an angel hair pasta. Thin enough to get slipped through between the door jamb and the weather stripping but ridgid enough to hold a loop.
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER. I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. The hanger loop method to pull the door handle worked on like the second try!!! Seriously, I can't thank you enough.
Thanks man. I used a wooden spatula to pry the door open a bit, and a steel wire with a loop at the end, took a long time and lots of patience but I got better at manipulating the wire and eventually got it over the door handle on the inside. 👍
Hey just wanted to tell you that God and Jesus love you so much that God would send his one and only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins✝️Get a relationship with God and Jesus and repent for your sins.God and Jesus love you so much and are always with you
The best video I found so far for unlocking locked cars. Most do not take the time to explain what we are actually doing which helps dramatically! Thanks.
This video is really good. One note, always unlock from the passenger side. There is a lot less wires and mechanisms on that side. Another great trick is to take one of your wiper blades off and see if there is a small strip of metal in it. If there is, take the metal out and you can slip in to the door lock at 6 oclock as if looking at a watch. It is easier as well as use it to slip under the lock and sweep left or right and catch the mechanism. The wiper blade or your antennae is cheaper than calling someone to come out to unlock your car. Both are cheap to replace. Another thing you can try is each window. Gently take your hand , palm down and gently drag down on the glass with medium pressure. Sometimes there is enough slack to get a tool or hanger from the top.
2 years later and this video was a life saver!!!! My husband left the car keys inside the car and the car on! For almost 2 hours him and my dad were trying to open it. I came outside and RU-vidd it and your video was one of the first ones and I tried the shoe lace one and it worked!!!! Thank you so much!
Seriously appreciate this video. Had no idea my 2005 auto locked when the keys were inside. Was about to change my oil and figured it'd be fine to leave them, but instead I had a little unlocking adventure 😅 (The manual even says watch out! "You may have to damage vehicle in order to retrieve keys") Embarrassing and stressful, but this video seriously helped me out of a tough spot and proved to my bf you don't always have to call a locksmith. Very glad this was high up on the search list. Well deserved!!
@@sunshinem.7741 after a big struggle me and my dad got it open, sadly tho we scratched the paint a little but nothing more than a 10 minute fix. Thank's for good wishes, but i would never guess this technology is actually this old.
THANK YOOOOUUU!!! left my keys in my trunk at the beach, I used the tie string around my son's surf shorts and after enough tries got my door unlocked! Thank God for this video!!! I can't believe it worked! Highlight of my year lol
I just unlocked my car due to leaving my keys in the car and I can’t tell you enough how grateful I am you posted this video, thank you and I appreciate your video 👍🏽
Thank you for this video! I got locked out of my car yesterday and looked up this video. I used my shoe lace and two butter knives to help me pull and keep the door open. I then proceeded to fit the shoelace through the door. It might be difficult at first but make sure you open your door enough to make the shoe lace easily go through. This video saved me hella money!!!
I used the exact same antenna that you referenced. The trouble was the second I triggered the unlock switch, the lock would immediately relock itself as a counter measure. So I had a friend stationed at the door handle and instructed him to pull the handle as soon as he heard me trigger the unlock.
Thanks for the video . I am a retired professional Locksmith ,but I still carry my tools around ,to help people once in awhile . But sometimes even I get locked out of my vehicle and my locksmith tools are locked in side and can't get to them . You have shown me a way that even I didn't know how to get into my vehicle so easy . Thanks , cause lately in the last six months or so I have locked myself out of my vehicle at least four or five times and people come up to see if I need them to call a Locksmith and I have to tell them that I am a Locksmith and that is pretty embracing . And have to tell them that my keys and Locksmith tools are locked in the vehicle and I will get in side shortly . I have an older vehicle that doesn't have those electronic systems or buttons or clickers . So thanks . You showed me a way to get into my vehicle that I didn't learn in locksmith school .
This is a true life saver! Thank you!!! The door got shut before taking the key out and I just got out car unlocked with the lace method after a few trials. 🎉🎉🎉
Bro you fucking saved my life! Oh my god! I'm on a remote location and just finished camping. I left my car keys inside the car and locked myself out. My phone was completely drained and didn't know what to do! I tried to power on my phone the next morning and it worked! But it only had a little bit of 0% juice left. So i went straight to power saving mode as quick as possible went on to youtube, i searched how to unlock car and this video came up and clicked it right away. I saw the shoe lace technique before the phone completely died again. I tried and it worked! You fucking saved my life bro. I'm in the car now as of now and charging my phone using my car outlet. My god i thought i was a gonner. Shit, fuck, holy shit, motherfucker, i don't give a fuck if i cuss here. I'm just relieved!
Lol nice !! Good karma , maybe .... I give to the homeless all the time , volunteer at shelters and worked wit non profit organizations, and there's been so many times where I'm dead broke , short on rent , low on food or can't pay a bill and something always happens where I get the money outta no where or some one helps me out ... Point is , I like to think that it's my good karma .... God works in mysterious ways ...
A handy tool is metal wire from a fence. It is more rigid than coat hanger. It is much longer, you can even attempt to reach the door in the other side. There is fences like that everywhere. The only difficulty is starting to remove one wire without tool. And not get caught if the owner of that fence is around. The zigzag shape often helps to position the metal piece.
Thank you so much. I was able to get my truck unlocked with the shoelace trick in about 15 minutes. Thanks, saved me a ton of money and headache and I’m able to go to work today without getting a ride. Saved the day
I'm not a mechanic but I like fixing small car problems and I love watching youtube posts. fifth time back to watch this video !! I like this awesome and very clear niche video I love it. very helpful so great job !!
Locked out of my car for two days, your video carefully and visually explained how to get my locked car open. Method 3 did the trick for me. Thank you so much man, your explainer lifted a load of stress and frustration.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! I was able to use your shoe lace example to open the door on my 1986 Porsche 944. I also appreciate the clear explanation on how to make the slip knot!
i just locked my keys in the car a few mintues ago and the shoe string (and butterknife lol) method worked great! it took me some time, maybe like 10ish minutes. at first it felt like the butterknife wasnt enough for the weather layer but i kept pushing downward until the shoe string finally squeezed in. the knot was kinda tricky, it kept loosening up on me, but after having to do it a few times in the process made me a pro at slip knots lol. the twisting the knot around tip worked for me 👍 which then proceeded with me finally unlocking my car. now i shall carry shoe string and a butterknife with me everywhere 😂. i am so grateful of you, you saved me money from not having to call a locksmith! thank you so much!!!
Thanks man! You explained it so carefully with all the aspects, sucseeded quiclky in first attempt with cotton string (no lace, but it worked perfectly thanks to your explanations and tip for twisting the loop!!) Thanks again! Very helpful!!
The 1st trick saved me. On a mercedese glk 2015, took me 2hours of creativity. Indeed it's d sweetest sound on earth at dat moment, wen u hear d door unlock, thanks a mil sir.
The shoelace method worked after literally 3 1/2 hours of trying a wire hanger. Finally got my car unlocked and all it took was 4 hours, cracking my phone screen, and a lot of swearing 😂
Your explanations are so helpful because you show and explain how things work. You offer ideas to use your imagination. And you're calm. It's much harder to learn something when I'm stressed. Very helpful. Thx.
I drive a box truck around the country and locked my keys in my truck. I just used your shoe string trick with an old electric cord. You saved my job man! Thank you!!
I have to admit when I saw the shoestring method I was like YEAH RIGHT. However thirty minutes of trying later and I got in my car and don’t have to shell out money for pop a lock. Thank you! I actually used yarn
OMG, You are a life saver!!!, my dad forgot his keys in his cars when i searched on youtube your video was there, he was tensed but we managed to do it, thanks man.. keep looking forward, you helped a family today...
Ha! I locked myself out of my car almost a year ago. Last one to leave work and in the middle of nowhere and with no obvious tools. I resorted to using branches from nearby bushes with little hook shapes. While I could snake them in they proved to be either too stiff or too limber to do what I wanted. The shoelace trick would not have worked in my car even if I could have thought of it. After about 45 minutes of aggravation I decided that I would make a lousy thief (though I had an impressive collection of twigs surrounding my car. Then I saw it. A ray of sunshine broke through the clouds, a choir of angels sang, as I realized my salvation had been there all along. A jagged three pound rock. Yep, right through the left rear window. I joyfully unlocked the car, sat in it and turned the key. I was elated - I was free to drive home and relax after another damnable day of overtime. My joy was short lived, as the rational part of my brain immediately told me that now I had to replace a window. F**k! The long drive home was spent with two voices in my head arguing - "How could you be so stupid?" "Well, did you want to walk?" "You shouldn't have left the keys in the car!" "Shut up!" Took weeks to source a window from a wrecker located closer than Outer Mongolia, but it turned out okay. I guess.
Omg... GREAT story, 😂😂😂 TERRIFIC story telling too, you are hilarious... A friend and I were at a restaurant in a city near our small town when she realized that she had locked her keys in her newish 1984 Jeep. We couldn't find anything or anyone to help, so she called her brother in law who assured her that he could get into the car, otherwise, she would have had to call a specialist. The brother in law came down, it took him over an hour and a half... He walked up to the Jeep, and... SMASHED the small vent window, stuck his hand in and opened the door... I gasped... eyes wide... My friend stood there for a minute... and then just lost it... 😂😂😂 She was so angry... omg... Meanwhile he was going "What!!! I opened it didn't I!!!" I was trying not to howl... She kept saying "I could have done that you idiot!!!"... We found out later that those Jeeps are super easy to open up... The back door has a small mechanism that opens that door in, literally, seconds... 😂😂😂
You have got to meet my best friend..His name is Roadside Assistance! He is the most reliable friend I have ever made and always shows up no matter how many times I have to call him in the middle of the night or out in the middle of nowhere... Assuming I haven't locked my phone in the car too with noone around...
This video might be old but I just have to say thank you so much, I used the first tip with the shoe lace and I got it after a couple tries, you really saved me from so much anxiety and guilt. Thank you so much.
Really like the shoelace method - it uses one of my favorite knots. Great vid - excellent narration. Me, I carry a spare key all the time. I rented a car once and they gave me ALL the many keys they had for the vehicle, on one welded wire loop - I couldn't take one off for a spare, and they wouldn't have one, either.
I was attempting the shoe lace method until my neighbour came and was laughing at me then he took a thin wooden stick... And opened up the rubber patch above the handle inserted the stick and opened it within 2 minutes.. lol
This is great thank you. I also have a tip for one of those RARE situations. I forget what car was involved, might have been a Caddy, Audi, or BMW. We were at a ski area and I noticed a car horn blaring and going silent. Went to see what was happening and saw a father and young daughter outside their car, no coats, in freezing weather. The father was opening the car door tripping the alarm. Attempting to silence the alarm with his fob, no success. Recloses the door to silence. I knew what was happening because I did some electrical engineering in that area. Hidden in the forest of tall pines was a radio tower that was jamming the fob signal. I guessed that the car alarm was located under the dash near the steering column. I instructed him to open the car door, sweep near the alarm unit while pressing the disarm button. We were lucky. It silenced.
I just got home the other day with a case of beer & a bottle. I didn't realize I had locked my keys in the car until I got to the door of the apartment 🤦🏽♂ I then had to break into my room via my ac in the window & then went on to try & break into my car for my keys... Needless to say, I'm glad there weren't any cops around lol
Sir…thank you for this wonderful tutorial! It took me some time to figure out where exactly to place the knot. It probably depends on the size of the window and other factors. Luckily I had time to experiment. After about 20 mins I almost gave up but I decided to tie two laces together and five minutes later I got my door open! Incredible!!! The working class (that can’t afford $65-$95 for a locksmith to come out) is forever indebted to you!
I have already used the two of your methods .... since I lost my spare key to the SUZUKI Esteem 2002. It is a time-consuming procedure ... that is for sure, but definitely is worth it, because is paying OFF and is money saver, too. >> Thank you for your effort to publish all of them. Happy New Year of 2020 !!!!
I live on a farm and am far away from a locksmith. I really need my truck and I did what you said after explaining the interior of the locking system. Thank you so much
Use an Electric Guitar string, (metal) a thinner gauge like a G,B,or the high E, select a type with the brass eyelet on the end. Similar to the methods in the video, just slide the non-eyelet end thru the eyelet for your loop. The strings are SO thin no wedging or prying is needed, you should be able to wiggle it right thru the glass edge into the vehicle, as the smooth thin strings will not be abrasive to finishes or gaskets. Fish that string in by navigating it with one hand for all turns and movement, (tip, bending a kink in the wire string is ok for strategic control) BUT at the entry point to the location its slid into, PINCH the string between your fingers, while holding that pinch-point stationary for accuracy. Once you do this for the first time, its a lot easier in general than the bulky wires and straps and floppy shoelaces. Where to get a string? A pack is about $4-$5 at any music shop,...or ask a friend who plays a guitar for a used one,...they change them frequently. If its not free, get a new friend. After you learn this method and get good at it, you can get into most tight tolerance doors quicker than some drivers can pull a key out , unlock and open a door.... A guitar string can be coiled into a wallet, a purse, kept at your job, stashed in your vehicle to help others,...etc. Maybe even hide one somewhere on the trim of the vehicle. Most cars today are made to not lockout. You need to use the key to lock it. Therefore you are not locked out,....you just lost your key. Dont do that,... .......then you`d have more time to learn the guitar. Happy Motoring,.....Great Video
Monetisation, algorithms and direction by recommendation. They're the name of the game. Remember, if you're not making your own choices, you're working to someone else's agenda.
I've broken into my own vehicle 100% of the time. I lock my keys in my vehicle about once a year. This just might help breaking in just a fraction easier. Thanks
You can always find an antenna on another car in the parking lot, unscrew it, and bend it so you can reach the door latch or lock button...thanks for the tip!
While you're at it, remove the windshield wiper blades for next time. The antenna will work only if you can shape it. Ever try that without some pliers or Vise-Grips?
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for uploading this video. I lock my car keys in the car last night and only found out this morning. I had a wire hanger ready, but a quick search on you-tube I came across your video and decided to try out your first method where you used a shoe lace. I used a piece of string instead. After a few failed attempt when I was pulling the string too fast and the loop would pop out as the string twisted on the pull, I was finally successful on the fifth attempt. I think it took me less than 15 mins and no damage to the car door or the seal. So just wanted to say Thank You 🙏
@The fastest milkman in the West really? A coat hanger will still open most car doors. Still if you have a higher end car it's still stupidly easy to just set up an RFID scanner to collect data when someone parks and set the code to a key fob, really quick and look like it would if you owned the car. Not suggesting anyone do it, just that remote locking is amazingly insecure.
@The fastest milkman in the West if the car just has central locking it will only unlock/lock the doors. If it has keyless start then it will still lock/unlock the doors but won't start the car as the system passes encrypted codes back and forth with the key fob. That said if you have two people, one in the car and one near the owners key fob then with the right equipment you can pass the code from one person to the other. Your essentially using the original key fob but sending the signal far further. If people hang their keys near their front door then this can be easy to do and the signal is generally only needed to start the vehicle, not to keep it running. If this was a big secret then l wouldn't be telling you, but anyone with a few hundred dollars and reasonable intelligence could learn to do this in a day from what's already on RU-vid
Earlier this year I locked myself out of my car, I called the Sheriff's office and the deputy who came to assist me popped the lock within seconds, thank you for the video, though.
