I wish I would be that lucky! Mine keeps moving and can hear no click...now my left hand index finger hurts! aahhhh../ hehheh my husband also got impatient saying, "enough is enough...why you wnat to spend so much time on this? Get a new lock if ever you want to have a known combination! Where are you going to use this lock anyway, no where to go in this CORONA time!" But for me such a challange grabs my all attention...this lock is lying in my junk box for ages but now that I thought of finding out the lost combination number, I WANT TO FIND IT! I had placed a sticker earlier and I see it got removed (by me only!!!) and am cursing myself doing that! Well, I said jovially to my husband that when we go visit our sons, while on plane I will keep trying where anyway one has nothing to do! :-D
Someone locked one of these master locks on a desk at school. Did this first try and unlocked it after 2 years of it sitting there. Thanks pal! Got my good deed of the day!
First number, feel for the catch. This is the trickiest one. Second number, dial will tighten, then suddenly be loose, that's second number. Third number, keep upward pressure on the shackle, and turn dial slowly. When you reach third number, it will unlock. This works for all locks that are Master Lock copies. Actual Master Locks are harder to pick.
Thank you. Opened a combo lock that secured a downrigger to my boat. I usually have quality key locks for that type of expensive equipment, but half ways through the season I lost one of the 4. I replaced it with a combo lock I found in a drawer and had a total brain fade trying to remember the combo. It only took a couple of times before I was able to unlock it. I could have used bolt cutters, but it is nice to have an extra lock for the future. I replaced the combo with another quality key lock.
Thank you so much. It works perfectly on my lock!!! For those who have troubles you need to make sure two things: 1. Your lock is the same brand as this video, which is HARDENED. 2. The most important part is here: after you got the first number, you have to go back and “pass the first number”, and then keep going until you get your second number. When you are going back, I realized that it always gets stuck before reaching the first number and passing it. So when it gets stuck you just need to loosen the top part a little bit to let it go through. The same thing happens when you get your second and looking for your third. You have to let it go until it passed your second number then you start to look for your third. Also sometimes you need to try few times that’s because you might not align the number accurately. One weird thing is that I actually found I have two first number. Both “3, 21, 18” and “32, 21, 18” work on my lock...
These locks come with a " key override function" for school staff to open every lock on campus. One of those codes will work on every other lock on campus.
I don’t know if you know but you have to turn it right to your first number then turn left but pass your second number and got to it when you reach it and then turn right straight to you last number
You are absolutely right, I had an old lock it has been locked for years and I forgot the combination, I opened it in a bout 20 second, not just that, I know the combination now.
After watching this youtube, in less than 5 minutes I unlocked a friends combination lock that she had forgotten the code. Thanks Marc, this really works!!
Raymond thank you so much for this educational video. I have the same lock but haven't had the time to do this but when I do I will be watching your tutorial. *Thanks again for sharing that with us!*
When searching for the first number, I started at zero, applied tension on the shackle, and turned right. I kept getting stuck at 28 (which 'should' denote the first number of the combination). However, after a few unsuccessful tries I realized that the first number may actually be beyond the first number that you get stuck on. My first number was actually past the first 'catch'; I spun past the first 'catch' and it was actually on my second catch. Pro tip: if you are using the first 'catch' as your first number and are having trouble finding your subsequent numbers to open the lock, loosen tension on the shackle briefly, spin 1-2 digits right, reapply tension on the shackle and continue spinning right to find your second 'catch'. Use that as your first number and find the subsequent numbers as in the video
Carly Bonk hey I seen those locks at dollarama and my school and I just pulled hardly and it opended and your lock in the video has the same thing I pulled one that said hardended

Awesome !Thank you for that. You just saved me from cutting a lock that I actually knew the combination to ! It just wouldn't open and I figured it out thanks to this video
Hey!!.. your my HERO!.. I locked myself out of my own back pack..had to lock some valuables away from roommates. I ended up washing my secret combo in my pants!..😆..and thought I was scarewwwed..but with the help of YOUR video..I got in my bag of goodies!..and it was INCREDIBLY EASY!!!..THANK YOU!.. 👏👏👏. PS: Your video was the easiest and best to understand. You Rock!..✊.😁.👍.
Thank you for this. I have the same exact one. It was a no-brand lock from Walmart for about $1.62. Unfortunately, mine never gets to a stopping point.
Thanks my friend, just follow your instruction and tried. For 7yrs I forgot the numbers, wala like a magic I finally unlock my combination padlock god bless you.
Thank you for your video after about an hour in finally got the combination right lol and it to open I actually unlocked it twice but the first time had no idea what the combo but with in a couple of mins going through it a second time I figured it out
Worked thanks. I lost my combo. Lol. Now I have a note of it. Btw if you get a wide back and forth at any point it may indicate two numbers close together. For example if it stops between say 10-15 you may have two numbers in that range. That's what happened to me and it totally threw me off. Also my stops were really subtle, esp for the second number.
UltraPi -idk if you're joking but the two comments I've seen you say this on aren't saying they tried the same exact number sequence, they're saying they used the same exact technique he used...
i tried 5 diferpent youtube methods. this is by far the simples method that actualy works. i got mines in the second try. The only thing i will suggest is that not always the lock will open when you find the last number. once you find the 3 numbers release the pressure on the lock and tried the combination. it. sshould open.
the reason some of you are having trouble I'd because your lock has false gates. this lock shown in the video is a low security solid disk lock. Most of you probably have master locks. Those will stop almost every 4 numbers or so. There are a lot of other methods for opening locks with false gates.
Hey Marc, would this also work if you did push the shackle as hard as you can (even though you said firmly)? When trying to find my second number, my lock already gets stuck before reaching all the way past one full rotation. If I do not put pressure and rotate counter-clockwise for one full rotation, I do get stuck at this "second number", but then when i continue putting pressure and turn it clockwise again, it gets stuck a number and my lock never releases. Am I doing something wrong? I have the same looking lock as you with the HARDENED on top.
Catherine DoesIt alright here's what you gotta do, let's say your lock has 6 right, 17 left and 37 right Alright so what you need to do is to do one full right turn to reset, when you miss a number, you can't go left again to fix it, and you'll have to restart, turn slowly to get used to it, like baby steps, it doesn't matter what you stop on as long as you don't turn left when you need to go right, so 1 full turn on 6, to the right, then 17 to the left, as you're headed for 37 on the right, you'll pass 0 and land on 37 and then you've opened it.
For those who are extremely frustrated that you still can't open your lock after watching this video (and many other videos), I feel your pain. I'd recommend opening the back of your lock. There are a couple RU-vid videos that provide a tutorial. My code was completely different than what this video provided me. For me, the only thing that was correct was the middle number. I spent many MANY hours trying every combination with the first and last number, but turns out the first number was way off to begin with.
I have the combination locks written down, but when I pass one rotation to get to my second number, it gets stuck half way. I have the shackle pushed up firmly, but I couldnt turn it anymore. So, I try releasing the shackle slightly and I went to my second number. Once I got to my third number, the lock doesn't open.
So I could keep trying this or I could just ask what my locker combination is. The thing is, I was supposed to open my lock today (because we haven’t done it in a while) and I couldn’t remember my combination, and I didn’t ask, so now I feel like it’s too late to ask. Should I just ask?
any way to jam the lock? make it look locked but combo not needed to open it? I jammed my son's main locker with a key and he has 3 freaking lockers, in 6th grade! he can't work these locks!
THIS ACTUALLY WORKED. So it might hurt your fingers a bit cause you reaaaaally have to push the lock until it wont move. BUT I WAS SHOOK WHEN IT OPENED
idk guys, but I think that any lock that looks like that *and* has "HARDENED" engraved on it is a master lock.If you look on the back chances are it says master lock. If not please tell me I'm wrong. EDIT: If it is a master lock it looks like a crappy Master lock.
