Confirmed still works June 2024! I’ve used this multiple times. When you enter the 6 digit PIN on the phone make sure to wait a few seconds after you enter the first 3 digits (if you enter it all as one straight 6 digit number the system won’t recognize it)
I'm planning on buying a Buick Lacrosse 2014 off a garage and the radio says Theft locked. Will it work now? Vauythe garage is not going to fix it. But I like the rest of the car. Could you help me find the solution to my issue?
Thank you , got my neighbors 2002 radio going today , it locked him out after a battery change . Took 3 x calling the number , I got thru , typed in my 6 digit retrieval code , gave my my 4 digit code , worked like a champ . Today is 5/9/2022 , thank you .
This worked 100%. The phone number still works you just may need to call it a few times before it picks up. My code started with a 0 so I just used the last three. The timing of pushing 2 and 3 has to be right on, may take several attempts. Thank you for the info.
Thank you Corey !! It worked no problem !!!! and the only tool required was a telephone !!!! Some other solutions here on YT require removal of the deck !!!!! NO WAY !!!! Cheers (16 may 2021)
You don’t have to enter in the number of car type just wait for it to end. Enter 106010. My car needed 4 digits not three like the video suggested. Worked for me 10/21.
Ignore comments about phone number not working! I had to try a few times and then it picks up. Worked in my 96 Chevy Lumina!! So happy to have found this video, you are a life saver!! July 14th, 2022 ☺️
Thank you so much for posting this! I have been locked out of and without a radio in my car (2000 Chevy Malibu) for over a year and now I am so happy to have a radio again!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
Thanks so much man! It worked exactly how you explained it! I just got a new motor installed in my 2000 Chevy silverado and for some odd reason my radio was locked but thanks to you that isn’t a problem anymore! I suggest everyone try this exactly as he explained! And keep a pen and paper in hand lol
Awesome! Been looking for unlock videos for a while and nobody's was working for me. This one worked exactly! Well except a little FYI for those whose numbers begins with a 0 (zero) you'll use the last 3 numbers instead of the first 3. Thanks again!
So glad I ran into this video. Been without a radio for approx one year and even dealership said they could not unlock going by the manual that came with vehicle. This video has different instructions and is so simple. Thanks.
07/08/2024 I just did this on my 98 Z28 with a used Monsoon radio I got off eBay. I followed the steps. It took 2 calls to the phone number and I was able to unlock the radio. So this does still work!
This worked for me July 6 2019 have a 2002 gmc yukon just a note though remember to hold down 2 and 3 for a long time until the number comes up. Then when you call the number let it play all the way through and just enter one of the numbers it has in video with astrick after I used the first one that starts with a 6. Don't push any of the numbers it mentions in call.
Hello I’m stuck in the same situation as everyone else 2002 denali suv GMC battery went dead so replaced it radio won’t ply out turns on but won’t display loc ?! What else could it be or am I doing something wrong I know this is a couple years old but please please anyone lmk I’m so upset I wanna jam out again 😥 just happened today
Thank you so much for this video. Most helpful. We used your instructions to unlock our 2001 Chevy Silverado. We were quoted $850 by a local Chevrolet dealer to replace the radio rather than unlock it.
Thanks this has helped me... I did have one problem but soon figured out the two 3-digits code were the same number. It’s was 042-042 .... called the phone number and got the correct code which is 0203 and entered the last 3 numbers 203
It still works, called in today 5/13/2022. Listen right through to the end of the prompts, ignore the model names, go right to the end of the recording, enter in your radio code and hit the star sign on the phone. I used dealer code 106010, that one worked on the first shot. If your unlock code is four numbers and happens to start with a "0", simply enter the following three numbers into your radio. Easy peasy!
@@gino2033 It is in the video, punch in the code with the hrs and min buttons and than press the AM/FM button, that is it. I just had to do mine agin, had to come back for a refresher course.
Worked great for me on June 12, 2019. The video gives correct directions. I think it's the recording that causes confusion. When you call the recording, ignore when the recording says " 1 for Chevy, 2 for Caddy, 3 for Pontiac, 4 for Buick, 5 for GMC." Just input one of the six digit dealer codes displayed in the video, followed by the asterisk key. I have a GMC and tried to put 5+one of the dealer codes and it was invalid. I tried again and just put the dealer code of 620526, and it gave me my unlock code. Wish you all the best.
@@JoeAIdar make sure the key is on and you can see LOC on the radio display. Press and hold preset 2 and 3 buttons at the same time and hold until the code appears
I need help with my gmc 2002. I got my code 1955 unclear to how to enter this if he is entering a 3 digit code. Do I enter Hr 19 then MN 55 ?? It loc s me out every time. Or do I enter 19 hr the 95 or 5 MN? Do u think you can help me?
That is all well and good for the head units that have buttons. My Delphi unit from the 2013 Acadia has tactile areas around the edge of the display and just two buttons, On/Off and Tune/Select. The screen says "LOCKED" and it appears there may be a sequence of touching the tactiles or the buttons or both but I haven't found out the combination. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Abuelo13x
Hey I wanna thank you .. I really did not knew how to fix this shi* but thanks to your detailed explanation I was able to get it to work . so thnsks bro I love ya I owe ya
what a dumb thing to put in a car's stereo .... The battery in my 99 Buick died and never knew about this security thing until I got the new battery in .... First thing I'm checking in the glove box to see if someone wrote the code down somewhere .... You would think there would be instructions on that when it was new ?? If I need this solution , i will cross my fingers and try it tomorrow !!!!! TinA !
I just called the number [don't bother with the 1-8* for Chev etc .... ] first dealer code worked ! I have my 4 digit code ... GOING out to try it , FC !!
I've tried this process multiple time and I cannot seem to get the codes at all. I have 2002 Chevy Venture warner bros edition. Any other tips or advice to help out, Please.
The only catch I saw was that you can't tell if the radio is on, or off. If you can't get it to display digits by using the 3+4 buttons, turn the power the other way and try again. Other than than, worked just fine. 2000 Sonoma pickup with a very dead battery
I used this procedure in years past and it always worked. A friend at a GM dealer gave me the same info years ago. I lost the phone# over the years., thanks for the phone number
I have a 2000 Cavalier CD Radio and this does not work. Nothing happens after pressing down 2 and 3 at the same time. Tried 8/10 seconds. I am in Canada and my radio number buttons are all horizontal, not stacked as shown.
Not really the serial number but whatever numbers come up when you hold preset 2 and 3 down. It's so GM can look up the unlock code of that specific radio.
I just got the alternator done on my 99 Monte Carlo which I had to disconnect the battery. Radio worked before. Now all it does is show the time. Well incorrect time. Nothing else. No sound. So when googled it mentioned this. So off tomorrow so gonna see if it's this. Boy I hope it is
Well my Cadillac 2006 sts had a bad radio changed it out ...says theft lock on the nav type yq4 opt ever have to deal with that radio to unlock or dealership only fix?
