How To Unlock Backpack Cover! - All Backpack Equipment Unlocked - Death Stranding Tips and Tricks 

Accessories provides an ingame benefit so, they're still pretty relevant imo. There's a few that are very useful, the first one is the Monster can accessories which looks dumb as hell but there we go. It reduces your Stamina consumption, which is significant the first time you get to the mountain area before you get better Stamina boosting items (it loses pretty much any value after this point though, so it's a good mid-game accessory, if you will). Then you have the coin (I think it's given to you by the Spiritualist) which increase your chance to find Chiral crystals. Invaluable if, like me, you have tons of sturctures you want to keep alive because you're gonna need a staggering amount of crystals to repair everything when the need arises. I have this accessory equiped 9o% of the time and it's benefit is pretty big, as far as I can tell. You'll really find CC more often (it can even drive you mad if you want to pick them all up) Finally, the Weather accessory given by the dude at the Weather station is amazing too. It basically reduces the chance to get timefall in every area where timefall isn't guaranteed. This is significant, to the point where I know if I equiped it or not based on how often timefall happens, when I have it it's actually pretty uncommon while, if I not, it happens all the time. It may even be a better version of the bell, provided I understood it's effect properly. If, as I think, the bell reduces the chance for BTs to spawn, then it's a better version of it, since BTs can't spawn if there's no timefall, keeping timefall away should fix both problem at once but maybe the bell has a different effect (it's description is quiet obscure so, maybe it's different). Btw, I was wearing the weather accessory for a very long time at the beginning of the game and there is areas that I straight up didn't know it could rain in, simply because it never happened when I had this thing equipped so, yeah, amazing accessory imo. The less valuable, again, imo, are the Cryptobiot (which is arguably the cutest though) which causes the Crypto to stay longer when you approach them. Never found any value in that since the game throws Crypto at you like a child throws breadcrumps at pigeons and they're easy enough to catch anyway. Also, the BB accessory. I mean, I may be a little harsh with this one since I occasionally get my BB to freak out to a concerning level when I'm using loud weapons heavily or when I battle BT bosses repeatedly but I think it's too situational to be really reliable. Also, I agree with you about the Stabilizer, it's WAY too expensive (I mean, not the price itself but the fact it covers the entire backpack, forcing you to equip that and that alone) and the benefits isn't worth it in return. I do accasionally use the Spare container ammo though. When I'm in Chiral crystal farming mode, fighting BT boss back to back, it's nice to be able to fight multiple of them before you rest (it's mostly for time optimization pruposes but it's nice in that regard). It also has a tactical value. Usually it's wise to carry two weapons when you're attacking large camp of Terrorists, for example but if you're equiping the Spare ammo container, one is enough for the entire group, allowing you to save some space on your back for something else. It also unlocks one additional space for a grenade pouch, meaning it virtualy increase the number of ammos AND grenades you can carry, which is pretty solid. The only real issue with the SAC is the fact that, you have to replace your backpack upgrades if you want to change them (as opposed to store them somewhere and reuse them later). In fact, while I like the "everything vanish" system of the game, I wish it was working differently in this specific case because it doesn't encourage peoples to try new set up and switch their backpack items based on the situation, which is sad. In fact, I could even use the stabilizer here and there if it means I keep all the equipment I removed in the process but it's not the case, I have to sacrifice them and reinvest into them every time so, no thanks. Not the best design choice I think. Finally about the look of my character, I like to mix gold and silver, making all upgrade to gold level and pick the silver skin for my backpack. It looks badass af, at least imo.

So, another guy coming late to the party, but if like me you're playing in 2022, I'm pretty sure the backpack covers are similar to ammo for your guns in that it replenishes itself when you rest. So if you're cover is looking busted up, take a dip in a safehouse or something. 👍

i love the grenade pouches. you can carry soooooo many 😂 you can fit 15 sets of grenades in the whole backpack. thats 75 hematic grenades. a little overkill but you could.

I understand this is two years later after this video. When you defeat particular MULES, you can find extra ammo clips that you can add to your inventory. So when you run out of ammo on one weapon, it auto-refills that weapon, and you are good to go. Also, to add. I have maxed out all the "Stars" with the collector and have yet to see any backpack cover.

I came to the same conclusion. The Stabiliser just wasn't worth losing the battery and pouches for.

I have been avoiding help videos because I am doing my first playthrough and wanted to experience it and discover everything through my own exploits (although being online and using other peoples structures has been a blessing (and a curse, so playthrough 2 is going to be all offline on Very Hard!!). That being said I really wanted the better battery so I can freeroam for even longer in non-chiral network zones. So I am so glad I discovered your video, everything was clear without fluff n rambling and I appreciate you sharing the knowledge. I will for sure check out your other guides when i have finished the main campaign and want to just get everything else I may have missed. Again, thank you!! I am late to the game, I started last week (May2024) and I wish I had gotten over my rage-boner over the MGSV/Konami-Kojima nonsense as well as ignored all the negative reviews and just given Kojima a chance especially now that I have played it (makes me sad now to think if only Konami had trusted Kojima and given him the freedom and resources Sony did then MGSV:TPP would have been so much better and finished properly). But now I am addicted!! It plays into my autism nicely, and I can free roam for hours just building the roads, collecting abandoned and lost cargo if I want to relax. I've reached Porter Grade 280 already just by doing standard orders despite only just finishing Chapter 3 - Fragile so I feel I am doing good. I may have missed the launch and the raw experience of playing when everything was so fresh but I am for sure going to pre-order DS2 and be on that the second it is available to download!! It looks amazing in the new gameplay footage, and you know Kojima is going to deliver another mindblowing story in his signature style that only Kojima Productions can deliver. What a time to be alive!!

I use stabilizer more and I have enough generator around my map. I can say stabilizer is useful for me maybe not to other people. Because im the porter who loves to accept multiple order in one run and build roads or repair roads. Maybe if you hunt BTS the stabilizer is no longer needed.

I completed the game when it released. Decided to get the PS5 upgrade, roam around and do deliveries. Had no idea these upgrades existed! Question: if I have a 5 star rating already with someone (the cosplayer), can I still get upgrade items?

Have you tried the new STABILIZER? Per the new DC.. They made it smaller and you can hover down off cliffs! Unsure if you made an updated vid or returned to ds

Dude your confused about what your showing here. You talking about how the back pack comes about to you and how deliveries adds it to your room inventory customization. But most of us get that, but the necessary items to make the Covers always say "Not Enough Material To Make". That is what everyone needs to know about how to get the materials to make this, when in our Private Lockers are full of necessary materials, and Chirilum. That's what we need to know. Explain that.
