Sounds like a major class action lawsuit in the brewing. If you paid fully for the device then it is your property, and no longer is the property of BOOST! They; Meaning BOOST, don't have the authority to force you to be on their network with your property. By paying fully and outright; BOOST relinquished their right to the property, or phone. They can not hold you or your phone hostage to their network until some so called conditions are met. That is illegal.

Not whenever you ask them too. Customer service will never just give you the unlock pin over the phone when you call them. They tell you that the phone will be unlocked in 72 hours, even if you meet all the criteria for being able to unlock the phone. Even if you own the phone outright and have had an account with them for over 10 years. So if you are planning on switching services, call boost at least 3 or 4 days before you even try to port your number or phone.

Going thru this now! Samsung galaxy A32 been over 12 months since I bought it. I was with them for a total of 12 years counting Virgin mobile, who was bought out by Boost, now DISH bought them and it's the worst! Have my new sim for another carrier and can't use it cause still locked. Stay AWAY FROM Boost people!!!! I am filing a complaint with the FCC, BBB,and calling my local state representative along with filing a complaint with state attorney general's office. I will spend the money to try and get a class action suit against this company, that you CAN count on! Tired of these companies walking on their customers like this.

Boost is a trash company. My mom was a customer for years, put her on my T Mobile account to save money, Boost wouldn't unlock the phone because she didn't have the particicular phone for 12 months. The phone was bought, wasn't free, wasn't a lease, they just wouldn't unlock it. No one in my family will ever use that trash company again.

And people will constantly bring up the fact that it's the law they have to unlock it. I'll never go back to Boost Mobile if I can help it. Had crappy signal and I live on a hill, couldn't turn off Call Waiting, had dropped calls and I'm disabled. Also didn't have VoLTE. This is good to know, I won't be getting another Boost Mobile phone. We are going overseas for several months, Boost does not offer service overseas, and my wife's Boost phone will not have been active for 12 months. Hence it sounds like she will not be able to use a foreign sim while overseas, because phone is locked and so will be useless? She's been happy with the Boost service and cost, but this seems not the carrier for people who travel overseas. :(

Boost made me miss Metro PCS. Last night, while trying to figure out why my prepaid single phone account was showing an upcoming payment of twice my monthly fee, their customer service left me on hold for 1hr 12min before hanging up on me. Metro also allows you to have anonymous accounts, and change your caller ID, as you please. Boost doesn't. When I purchased my phone/plan, thr store manager assured me I'd be able to change caller ID, to an unofficial side business name, I dabble with part time. I found out later that day, they were either misinformed, or lied to me. After only one month with Boost I'll be running back to Metro

The Boost (and other carrier-sponsored phones) have their imprint within the device’s root. No matter what ‘codes’ are used, the device is permanently tethered to the first carrier, and they can hijack it at any time. Save yourself wasted time researching how to jailbreak, and plop down a few more bucks for an OTB unlocked one. Hope this helps.

I've had boost for a couple months. After the first little wobble where they gave me a SIM card with a new phone number rather than my current. They fixed the issue. For some weird reason they're sending me text about paying my other bill on the number I never wanted. Hopefully that doesn't cause problems when I go to get another phone. Their program is 30 gigs of hotspot, supposedly unlimited data, but if you go through the 30 gigs of data you don't have any more hotspot. Which I'm not in love with. I don't know that I've been using that much more than my old provider but they say I've used over 12 gigs, where are my last phone I was limited to I think two. It's been kind of a crazy mom cuz I went with new internet for my home, there were times I was using my phone rather than my Wi-Fi. At least in my area they're using AT&T, I had cricket very briefly and they were throttling the speed. I consider boost the best AT&t, that isn't AT&t. My plan is 25 a month and their app allows you to earn credit. With credit, my current bill should be 5.
