Make sure you’re not wearing anything that you made with the ToM tool. Sometimes clothing layers in this game so even though you don’t see it, it might under something else you are wearing.

Make sure you aren’t wearing a custom item underneath something else you’re wearing. I had that issue.

I had issues with that quest as well. The hanging stuff didn’t work for me even though it was the right category. It took me a bit longer than I showed in the video to get everything. Might be glitched.

Does it let you actually snap the photo or is it stuck?

Did you also click a color by accident maybe? Just double check you didn’t accidentally pick more filters. You could also just use the DreamSnaps filter (toggle) instead. At the time of this video, that feature wasn’t working quite right but they’ve worked all the kinks out now. If you turn that toggle switch on, make sure you remove the other filters too.

If you went into the customize option in either wardrobe or furniture mode and made something, that’s the touch of magic tool. If you are wearing something that you customized or have any items that were customized, you won’t be able to take a DreamSnaps photo until you remove the customized item from the picture area. Sometimes you can have on a custom tshirt and not even realize it because clothing layers. I hope that helps.

The camera is a tool that you can pull up just like you pull up your shovel or pickaxe and then you trigger it the same way. If this wasn't what you needed, let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

It never tells you unfortunately but it’s usually a custom item that you’re wearing (clothing layers so you could be wearing a tshirt underneath that you don’t see but the camera knows it’s there) or even a custom rug or furniture that is in another biome directly behind you can do it too.

When I kept trying to take the Dreamsnaps picture, it kept telling me I can’t submit it because it contains Touch of Magic items. What do I do?

If you have any ToM items in the picture, even if they’re blurred out, you’ll have to remove them because the Dreamsnaps pictures won’t work with them. If you don’t have any ToM items in your picture, but it says you do, this is a known issue and the Dreamlight Valley team is working on a patch. If this is your issue, try to take a pic in another location and see if it works.

yep, I made sure I don’t have any ToM items so I’ll try the different location like you said. Edit: it didn’t work. I think I’m just gonna work on my other characters until the next minor update or if I have to, I’ll wait for the next big update.

That’s such a bum 😔 I hope they extend the contest until they can get that patched.

All I can find through a google search is he has to be at a ‘high’ level. I would think level 7 or higher but I had already completed all of Scrooges quest line when I did this video. So, worse comes to worse, just finish his quest line out and then you will be fine for sure. That is assuming you are already at level 2 with Vanellope and your character is at least at level 5.

I think I got most items through Scrooge's store. Not sure about the arch though...without double checking, I think the arch may be a craftable item but don't quote me 😉

He will eventually… I know it’s tough waiting… there’s a lamp from the Fairy Godmother quest/update 5 that I have yet to see in my store and it’s driving me nuts cuz everyone seems to have it except me. 😩

They are the custom items you can make when you are in your furniture or wardrobe. Just look for the category that says Customize (with a paint brush icon)

I had issues the first couple times I tried it. I was hoping it got easier with the updates but I guess that first one is still bugged. I just downloaded a 2nd version of the game on my Switch. It’ll take me time to get to that point but when I do, I might be able to answer this better. If I figure it out, I’ll come back around to this comment.

There's a new DreamSnaps option in either your furniture or wardrobe mode now. Try using that. If you literally have no furniture at all, start buying things from Scrooge's shop asap 😉

They were in the premium shop. I’m sure they’ll come back around again. It looks like we might be getting more pink trees with the new update today though… I’m hoping we get the big pink trees in build mode! So excited 😆

Playful and familiar are only available under wardrobe and they are ‘traits’. You can pick traits AND styles under wardrobe but only styles are available under furniture.

If you can find 5 items, you’ll be able to complete it. You can click All and then use the DreamSnaps toggle when you’re in your furniture mode. They fixed that, so that may bring in more items for you.

Do you have any touch of magic clothes on that you can’t see or are there any ToM items that you can’t see but the camera knows they’re there? I had this issue a lot.

I believe you have to level up Scrooge’s friendship first. I can’t remember what level you need to be at though. I’m sorry.😞

There should be a Dreamsnaps option now right on the screen in the furniture tab. If that doesn’t work, filter literally by ‘Wreck It Ralph’ and see what pops up. Can you see any of the items I used? They seemed to work.

Ugh! Maybe you need to progress further with Scrooge? Im thinking because the items should be available at his store that this might work. I’m just throwing things out there to see if they stick.

The quest automatically started for me but I found this info on gamerant.com - let me know if it works… “Players can unlock the DreamSnaps feature by completing Scrooge McDuck's quest, "The Haunting of Dreamlight Valley." This quest is automatically unlocked by players who have reached at least Character Level 5 and have completed introductory quests for Merlin beginning with, "Welcome to Dreamlight Valley." The player starts the game with the Phone (and Photo Mode unlocked), which is the only Royal Tool necessary to participate in DreamSnaps Challenges.”

I think you just have to keep talking to Scrooge to build his friendship but someone said in the comments that they were on level 10 with him and still didn’t get the right dialogue so, I don’t honestly know. Also, Make sure he’s on level 2 with Vanellope

@@CheliaCrossing He forgot to plays Vanellope s house. After leveling her up untill Level 6 with purified nightshards he got the quest for Valley visits. Not yet the ghost story? But I think he already did that before Vanellope arrived? I think he forgot that he did that. He almost 70 years old 😁

Use the new filter and you should get more items

If you completed her first quest which was the DreamSnaps tutorial, you should have it unlocked. You won’t see the option for DreamSnaps though until you actually take the picture. That’s when the option will be there for you.

Also, make sure you ‘opt in’ under the events tab. If you don’t do this, then you will not be able to unlock it completely.

@@CheliaCrossing Thank you again for responding! I did do her quest and take pictures, but just heard DDV will be dropping a Hotfix update to include "Missing Dreamsnaps menu on Xbox" next week! I started my first game on console Xbox, then another on Xbox on PC.....lol The console is the one that is missing the menu. So hopefully, I'll see the menu next week. Glad your channel popped up for me, new subscriber and I'm enjoying watching your videos. (Trying to get the hang of decorating...lol)

They added a DreamSnaps filter that you can just click on in your wardrobe or furniture mode now. I would use that and see if it helps you.

To get the rewards, all you have to do is "opt in" to the DreamSnaps (you should get that option when you go into the event tab in your menu after you complete the tutorial - Vanellope's 1st "quest") Once you've opted in, you can just take a picture with the items listed in the event tab under DreamSnaps, Current Challenge. You'll then need to pull your camera out and take a picture but note, you won't get the option in your camera until you actually take the picture. If you click the key (on PC) or the button (on controller) that it tells you to press (it will be on your screen in the bottom left-hand corner - after you take the picture), you'll then see in the top left-hand corner if you've selected enough items in your picture. If you've covered all the required items listed you can then press the key or button it tells you to submit it. Once you do that, you will then get rewards every Wednesday. Just go to your mailbox and collect your prize. I hope this helped and didn't confuse you even more...

Which items were you looking at? I think I got most everything in this video from Scrooge’s. I don’t remember when or where I got the arch though…

I got those from Scrooge’s. It’s so painful waiting for the good items to come through his shop though. I rarely see those items so I’m glad I got them.

@@CheliaCrossing for some reason scrooge in my gameplay has only specific and always the same and only few items either i have them or not and i want so much the aquarium and these things

@user-df4dn7mc5x the aquarium was a premium shop item. You’ll have to wait for that one to come back around in that shop to get it.

@millymilly3158 you need to go to your event tab and opt in to participate with the DreamSnaps. If you don’t, it won’t let you take DreamSnaps pics. I hope this helps you.

@millymilly3158 are you at level 2 friendship with Vanellope? I didn’t get the ‘opt in’ menu until I got to level 2 with her.

I believe you need to increase Scrooge’s friendship level to get his ‘ghost’ dialogue. I can’t remember what level it is but it’s pretty low. When I got her, I was already done with all of Scrooge’s quests. You also have to do her first quest as well.

I feel like the base game without all the premium items is pretty solid but when it comes to DreamSnaps, folks that can afford all the cool items definitely seem to have an advantage.

It’s solid on certain platforms, I should say.
