How to unlock Kenmore oven 

My stove is a Kenmore Elite. I accidentally pressed the stop/clear button (which is the button to lock the oven) for too long, and got a LOC message on the screen, which disabled the oven functions. Following Mr. Chitterman’s advice, I pressed the stop/clear for three seconds, heard the click, waited about 5 seconds and pressed it again (to unlock the function) and it worked. All oven functions have been restored and are now available. Thanks for your video.

Thank you very, very much, Imi. You just saved my life! About 2 hours ago, I saw on the Kenmore Oven panel a button in faint print which says: Oven Lock - HOLD 3 SEC. I pressed it just for fun. All of a sudden the Oven got locked. Nothing worked except for the Timer and the Oven Light. Could not use the stove top elements. Could not change Clock Time. Could not open the oven door. I unplugged the oven. Spent 10 minutes cleaning the dirty floor under the oven. Then plugged it back in. But the Oven was still locked. I tried several instructions given online, e.g. holding the Oven Light on for 30 seconds, etc. Nothing worked until I came to your video. You are a life-saver!

Let me add my thanks! At first the door opened, but I had a "dr" signal, and it kept beeping, and nothing would make it stop, none of the controls did anything. So I unplugged it, after an hour I plugged it back in, and it locked. I found this video and fixed it.

Thank you... I can now open the oven... OK, What happened.... I had an aluminum pan covering some food to keep it warm.. Lifted the front edge of the pan upward and rested it against the display panel... When I moved it later, the oven beeped and "DOOR LOCKED" appeared... So it seems it locked when the pan came in proximity of several of the oven control buttons.... Your solution was my solution.... AMAZING !!!!!

I believe Frigidaire makes Sears Stoves because the Frigidaire model we has this problem (Occurred after a minor power interruption.) The stop button is labelled "Clear" on the Frigidaire. It takes a combination of actions to solve this and pretty much as you describe. Press the clear/stop button for 5 sec or so. The word on our screen shows "Loc" and I recall playing with that via the up/down arrows; you hear some kind of low sound near the door top, but the door was still locked. Holding the clear again released the door with a beep. BUT, when we closed the door it relocked!! So , I replayed the procedure and next time the flashing light went out -solved. Thank you.
