Spindle, the so-called The valve plug, when it is not used for a long time due to the lack of a thermostatic head or its maximum setting, or stony water, may get blocked, thanks to which the radiator will have a constant water flow, regardless of the setting of the thermostatic head.
The solution is to disassemble the thermostatic head and start the spindle by pressing it several times and if it does not come back on its own, then pull out the pin a few times. Attention, too much pulling or jerking may cause failure of the valve and water leakage from the radiator through the valve, therefore we should act gently and with sensitivity.
Such a spindle can be lubricated with machine oil or other oil, so that the spindle works without any problems. If such a failure occurs, it is worth considering replacing the valve with a new one before the next heating season to rule out the problem.
