Thank you. It's refreshing to see such an honest, real-time video review of car door unlocking tools. Well done for getting it to work. I always keep spare air-wedges in mine (they're usually the first things to fail!). And for all you would-be car thieves, remember that if the owner has double-locked the car (and taken the keys with them) when you open the door you're going to set off the alarm (with no way of switching it off.)

For those of you who would like practice without the worry of damaging your vehicle, you can try junkyards! A lot of Junkyard employees/owners are okay with it as long as you consult them first. (Don’t be weird about it though)

I use to work for AAA, all I ever used was the wedge, airbag, and long reach tool. I once had a woman lock herself in her Landover, I'm not kidding, there are no door locks, and her battery was dead, so had to attach a battery box, to get her out, she was so angry, and filthy rich, I got an awesome tip. She went to the dealer, and returned the suv, and went, and bought a new jag, I saw her a few weeks later at a store, and she thanked me, and told me the story about the car return... LMAO

I wish all car were the same. More and more modern cars require the ignition to be switched on before you can wind down a window or press the unlock button

What you want to use, if your not use to doing this, is a plastic bondo mixing tray, slip that into the door, with the airbag pumped up, but be careful not to much it will shatter the window, keep the plastic bondo tray slipped in so you don't tear the rubber door surround, then slip the tool into the area between the tray and the metal of the car body, you will not rip the rubber surround that way.

Wedge the door a little more so you can get your bag in a little further and it will open up a nice gap for you to get your tool in.

I've seen MANY tow truck drivers (because of my job) use those things to get into cars and yeah they work really well. 2 points to consider...I've seen many car's doors NOT pop exactly back to it's original condition so good job on that front. And 2, if an officer rolls up on ya doing that, keep your hands where they can see them and do whatever they say! lol

LOL agreed I will do exactly what the police say. Alot of times I never mention everything in a video I am hoping people figure it out. if SHTF and you're on the move I would certainly drop this in my pack. Smashing windows and making loud noises I prefer not to do.

Extra keys, EXPENSIVE some 300 bucks that is why I don't use the magnet under those magnetic bumper boxes if your bumper is metal or use your frame which better be metal a good pothole might jar it loose costing another $300.

YES! that's why I do not have and extra set. Its also nice to have it if someone in the family or friends lock those key in. Much cheaper then a locks smith

@@SurvivalSavvvy you only need the chip key to start the engine you don't need the chip key to unlock the lock, a regular key will work fine

Triple A used to provide a plastic credit card looking thing that I THINK was meant for a one-time use that had your key cut into the plastic so you could flip it out of the credit card looking thing and at least be able to get into your vehicle once at least. I'm not sure they still do that, but maybe a private company does. Wallet should be a little more secure than your silver box. BUT I don't think they make it anymore, i mean not that i could find in my quick search. Like someone said just need the non-chip key for getting in. Could keep THAT in that other credit card key holder. Just thoughts, but I like your idea too! ;-)

Good job, but next time remove the long reach tool and deflate the air wedge prior to opening the door(As you risk damaging latch and/or warping the frame if you open it with it inflated)

@@dodgeramsport01 Just because you haven’t damaged any vehicles by doing so, doesn’t mean that it can’t happen.The air wedge puts out a lot of pressure primarily on the latch(Which has plastic components),, and secondarily on the frame.

@@lokpikr999 The frame???? The B pillar? The thick steel frame meant to protect the driver from side impact car accidents? No, I don't believe a wedge in the door frame is gonna warp that frame, unless the frame is 2,000 degrees

Nope. All your doing by opening the door with the air bag inflated is relieving the pressure. Exactly how are u going to warp the frame?, it's already under pressure, your relieving it. And the door lock will not break, won't happen.

Great demo. Modern cars that can lock with keys in them are garbage design and why American autos are failing globally. Simply put you cannot lock a Toyota with the keys in it. However I am looking at this and seeing endless shtf uses. Sure you can smash windows to scavenge vehicles but dangerous and noisy. great demo. I am sure practice makes it smoother but I appreciate the first try as it helps to see the issues

The reasoning for using the passenger door is because the driver side typically has more wiring inside due to the window switches, mirror switches, pedal switches, etc. you won’t come across more than a window switch and electric lock on passenger doors

Doesn't make a difference. Unless your slim jimming. It's no more difficult to actuate an unlock button or snare a lock lever from either side.
