Please explain to me how you wound your watch too tight. I've been repairing watches for around 20 years and I've never come across a watch that was wound too tight, although there seems to be a lot of watches not working because they are overwound on ebay. Do you wind the crown using a pipe wrench or something like that? It's not possible to over wind a watch using your fingers to wind one. When you can't turn the crown clockwise anymore the watch is fully wound and if you use some kind of force to turn it further you're going to break something, either the winding stem, the main spring or the barrel arbor.

It can always happen. I recommend stopping once any sort of resistance is felt. It takes time to learn the feeling

Because the balance wheel was not moving. If it is working the wheel would rotate back and forth

I don't think it's a Waltham watch. I don't see Waltham stamped on the movement anywhere. It looks like a recased movement of some kind, but I don't think Waltham made anything in this watch. It just has Waltham printed on the after market cheap rinestone dial.
