How To Upcycle An Old Top With Vintage Lace

That's what gives me the confidence to do this because I always thought I had to make everything completely perfect. But the imperfections are what make it so amazing and beautiful. By the way, I did the denim skirt, taking a pair of jeans and adding denim down the split jeans and itturned out beautifully! I've been working through a lot in my head these past 18 months or so, and reached a place where it interested me in making an effort again with my self care around 6 months ish ago, and not long after discovered you! You've not quite transformed my entire life, but I tell ya, you're doing one hell of a transformation on my wardrobe! 😁 I've always loved boho, shabby, non conventional clothes, but all I had was straightforward basics. Simple, serviceable, and nice enough, but plain. At least.... I did! I've transformed jeans, tops, dresses, and actually made (following other tutorials) brand new dresses, tops and skirts, but jazzed them up in your style. I've made a fabulous boho cross body slouch bag, working on a snippet roll style watch strap, and even cut and spliced fabric onto a pair of wedges! I'm transforming me, but you put a neatly shoed foot up my arse, to make me WANT to take better care of myself. And I am! And I intend to do even more of it and not lose sight of myself again! Any man destined to be in my future better have his shit together and treat me with the respect I deserve, because I'm not playing second fiddle to anyone any more! I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm so glad I found you. I appreciate you! You helped give me back a part of myself I forgot I once was, and you have no idea of the impact of that or what it means to me. It's almost pointless saying this top is gorgeous, everything you make is! But a jazzed up white vest - you can't really go wrong! Every wardrobe needs at least one cute white vest! And this one is perfect! 😘😘😘 xxxxx

Im working on 3 that are similar to this one.. at one point they were my favorite..i didn't want to throw them away...but the stains were down the front.. i was inspired by the table cloth idea and found one of my grandmother's that was torn..and decided to use it..i think the hardest part was cutting into it.. ive alway been one to repair.. i decided to use just one piece acrose the front..it came out so cute , covered everything.. the only thing i noticed is that its weighty and pulls the front down a bit.. i may go back and put a piece along the back.. The second fix I'm using the bottom of an old slip with beautiful embroidery..that should be enough to cover that indiscretion.. And my third is in the wash trying to get that stain out with peroxide.. then I'll know where to put that row of lace.. Thanks so much for the inspiration..

This is exactly what I needed! I have a couple of white sleeveless tops that I rarely wear (old lady arms). I can add some lace and ruffles to make a little cap sleeve and embellish the neckline!!

Instead of cutting the pieces off for the little cap sleeves, I think I would’ve folded that part over & sewed it on the top…almost a double cap
