How to update firmware on Behringer XR12/XR16/X18 Digital Mixers

In this video I demonstrate how to update the firmware on the Behringer XR12/XR16/X18 series of Digital Mixers.
The process is the easiest if you connect your mixer to a home router/switch and connect your PC using the Ethernet cable to the same router/switch and open the "X-Air-Edit" app. It might also work if your PC/laptop is connected to the same router using the Wifi connection, as long as the mixer and pc/laptop is in the same gateway/subnet, you should be able to proceed with upgrade.

The selector switch beside the Ethernet socket needs to be moved to the left, otherwise you'll not be able to see your mixer or connect via the router. This wasn't mentioned in the video.

Wish you had shown the actual connections. I don’t understand how you have the Ethernet connected to a router and some other wired connection. What other wire? Where does it go into the mixer?

So hopfully you see this just got an xr 18 when I go to setup in the x air app I see my device and I hit connect and it does nothing

You need to make sure the XR18 is on the same wireless network if setting up wirelessly, I sold the unit but read the manual on how to set unit for network connection. If using a network cable, you'll need to hook both the unit and your PC to a proper network hub or switch for them to find each other. amzn.to/3Pa8Jyp

You can download most PC and Mac based apps for X Air on their official website. www.behringer.com/Categories/c/Behringer/Downloads while iPad and Android apps can be downloaded directly from app store

Hey Jonathan, according to their Wiki Page, the X18 only supports a maximum of 4 clients through Wifi Access Point Mode. Did you add more than 4 client access to the digital mixer?

Don't. I'm the only one that uses the connection. When I'm alone the signal works perfectly. But when they reach more people on site, the connection is lost.

I too experienced WiFi connection problems. Simply add an external router to your Xair via the Ethernet port (I use dual band router) and you should be good to go.
