Hey there, yes it pretty much plug in via usb and away you go. Though you might have some problems, if you look I address this on a video on my channel if your usb mic is not working, which includes plugging the mic into the ai-1. I'm not too sure myself with the asio, never looked into what it is for. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment.
Hey leap, It sounds like the firmware had improved the quality and may not need to have the volume level as high, or the microphone so close to you. May be try it with a the gain level not so high or have the mic not so close to you, Hope that helps.
Hey Sruthi, yeah it does that flicker of the phantom led light when you connect the usb to a pc/notebook. It is nothing to worry about, though if you be wanting it to have phantom on, pressing the mic volume fader until you hear a clicking sound will turn on the phantom power and the led light.
