How to Update the Firmware on a Fujifilm Camera (QUICK TUTORIAL) 

Your video saved me a whole lot of frustration. Thanks! You explained in a couple of seconds what I have been looking for all evening. The fujifilm website fails to mention that extremely simple and important step of "press the back button while turning on your camera" causing a whole lot of head scratching: turning the camera on / off and scrolling through menus looking for the magic "upgrade" button. Watched your video, and bingo! I'm done.

Way to go... straight to the point. Very easy to follow and understand. Just watched other Fuji youtubers use 8 minutes to complicate things. Thanks :-)

Forgot to mention that the black square will blink showing progress (left to right). The X-H2 and X-H2S cameras take 3 minutes to update. The body and a lens can be updated in two power-up/power-down sequences, after which you can remove the memory card. The May 2023 update is very important for the models mentioned.

Will updating affect the existing film recipes saved on the camera?

Do i have to connect the sd card to the laptop? Because i dont have any connection to the memory card

If the camera is new, can you upgrade up to the current version? It is the only one available now.

can I transfer the downloaded firmware directly to my cam through cable wire? I do not have a card reader

Hi Daniel, this was helpful however I noticed when I did the upgrade the version that was originally on my camera was higher than the one updated. I have a new X-T20 which originally had Body version 3.0 and Lens version 3.1 but now with the upgrade has body 2.01 and Lens 3.22. Can you explain this?

Thanks so much for the tutorial. I have been having an xt2 for abt 14 months and i havent downloaded any firmware. I think the most recent firmware is 3.0. If i want to update my xt2 with ALL firmwares, Do i need to update all of them or will firmware 3 will have even what was in firmwares 1 and 2? Thanks
