How to update the firmware on your Sony Blu-ray Disc™Player that does not have internet 

I tried doing that on my S350 player, but it says NO DISC and a message with the EXT Memory not being recognized appears. What should I do? This is the first time this has happened. And I didn't get an EXT memory with the player. :(

Not sure anyone even checks this site anymore. Have a Sony BDP-BX2 (got it used today). I’m in the U.S. I find that it plays regular DVDs and older Blu-rays, but not newer Blu-rays. Any assistance you could offer would be appreciated.

I have a 2 Questions. The First I got Sony UBP-X800 4K Blu-ray Player. It’s Not Scanning Bluetooth Devices Nothing, when I Trying To pairing the device doesn’t shows any of the the device for Bluetooth connect. The Second one. Can’t Connect to the Internet over the iPhone hotspot. When I turn on the wifi that Showed list only Home network wifi. But doesn’t show up mobile phone hotspot network. Why it’s happen like this.

Can't we just create an ISO image, copy that to a USB stick and update that way? You know, like virtually every other manufacturer allows?

Well no disc drive I guess we change brands from the Sony to something else.

Hello, my bdp-s350 keeps displaying the error "EXT jack not reconized, to unplug it and restart the player." I don't have anything in the EXT jack and have tried to unplug it as well as reset my device. How can I fix this?

Is it really necessary to choose ' burn a disc with cd/dvd-player' cause I chose the Live File System but when I put it in my blu ray-player, he says 'invalid' What should I do now?

$16 dollars is a "nominal fee" for an update disc? They used to be free of charge. Stinks when one owns two players. Like others, when I download the firmware update to a flash drive, I get it on a zip file. When I extract, I do not get an executable file. I get a BIN file and an ID file, neither of which are "playable" when I plug in the drive to my players.

my bdp-s5100 freezes when i select update on the network option... if i use the usb it shows it on all categories except setup.. for playing media etc it shows though.. useless

I have a Sony BDP-S5100. When I attempt to watch a video on Amazon the blu-ray will not allow to watch unless I get an update to "view exciting content". However, it will not update. I have shut off my network to try and reset it. I have done a factory reset on my blu-ray and even went so far as to do a chat online with a customer service rep only to be told to reset, go back to the link I pasted above, then get back in line to speak to do another chat online with another CSR. I tried using the browser on the blu-ray and it cannot open the file needing the udpate. I attempted to use the Ethernet cable and hooking it up to my PC for the update and that didn't work. What has to happen to get it updated so i may watch Amazon again without hooking up my laptop to my TV?

Dear Good day! My Sony Blu-ray Model BDP-S480 My PC containing Windows 7 64 bit Downloaded software from "esupport.sony.com" But it's not an ISO format. The downloaded format .BIN and .ID So what I have to do now. Burn or something different.

Well I'll try one more time to create a ISO file to burn a cd. Why can't we get an ISO file from Sony Like you are showing on this video? Why so complicated? I may never buy another Sony blu ray after this fiasco. This s360 will just be a DVDplayer at least it's HDMI. thaks for nothing!

I tried playing a Blu ray movie today and the audio was all low couldn't hear anything good i inserted a DVD and it play perfect audio tried using RU-vid and perfect audio again. Any ideas why it won't play Blu ray audio? Please help

Dear Mr. Vincent Good day! I'm from Bangladesh (Pabna). Update my Blu-ray via Disc Upgrade method. Now it can play all kinds of DVD except 3D Disc. Every 3D Disc showing massage "Unknown- Can't operate this Disc."

This is maddening. I have exactly that Blu-ray player (region B) and exactly that Sony CD-R disc, but apparently the Windows Disc Image Burner has been removed from Windows 10, and the software that's preinstalled doesn't create ISO disc images on CDs.

I have a question I just bought a Sony bdps3500 blue ray player and my mom has another Sony model blue ray player. I'm not going to be going onto the internet on my new blue ray player but what would be a reason for a firmware update? My moms blue ray player works fine without a firmware update I never updated it.

I have a Sony hooked to one TV and a Samsung hooked to another TV. I will have a Netflix running on the Samsung and the Sony will be giving me the I can't Connect to the Internet message. Can't download software updates to correct the problem so I downloaded the Sony Update file to my PC and copied it to a USB Memory Stick. But when I put it in the Sony USB port it automatically loads a BUDA file in front of the UPDATE file and tells me it can't find the UPDATE file. Pretty funny, huh?
