And the fun doesn't stop after you learn how to fly! The powerful and efficient brushless power system delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and even inverted (upside down) flight. Plus, the lightweight design and low wing loading deliver a very wide flight envelope and incredible handling that even experienced pilots will appreciate and enjoy. The BNF Basic version (HBZ3850) is the perfect choice for those pilots because it allows them to use their favorite Spektrum™ transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own to fly with.”

1:20 Don't remove the old servo wire YET. Clip it off close to the servo body, tape plug of new servo to the old wires, then PULL the new wire into place using the old wire.

That’s what I was thinking. That’s how I have replaced a hood release cable on a car among other wires or cords. Great idea, nice of you to share.

After multiple failures and an unsolvable problem with the nosewheel assembly, I have decided to strip the plane for parts and throw the rest of this crappy plane in the garbage

Tie a string to the old servo wire so you have something to pull it back through.

I'm replacing the same servo so I searched how to put a servo in a AeroScout and this and Horizon Hobby were the first to pop up. 👍🏻
@michaelkennedy320
@michaelkennedy320 Год назад
You can tie or tape a string to the servo lead before you pull it out; then use the same string to tie the new servo's lead and feed it back through.

Good job in the repair. A little rudder to start your turn then airlerons.

Thanks for this, my rudder servo has also gone funny after my second day of flying (gets stuck slightly in one direction after using the rudder and wont fully recover to central position). I have long ass grass in the UK so can be abit bumpy on the landing. I have just ordered 2 Savox SH0265MG Micro Size Digital Servo. I may as well them both out whilst I'm at it. But I am loving this plane and hooked.

Hey thank you for the feed back! I’m hooked too! I do have a new plane video i am working on, I think this video worked out for helping quite a few people. It is so cool you are in the UK and I am in California, yet we are talking about the same love of this hobby. Good meeting you and happy flights 🤝

Could you give us an update after a year? I just bought the same plane for my son and the servo failed on the first day and the plane didn't crash
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 2 года назад
Sure , what you would like to know? I still have my plane. The problem with the servo is a problem but the titanium replacement is a good fix for fairly cheap. I can make a follow video if you would like?

Thanks for the suggestion! I just stripped the internal gearing of the stock rudder/nose wheel in my new AeroScout after a landing that really wasn’t very rough, which speaks to the inadequacy of the stock servo. For those who just bought the AeroScout, do yourself a favor and upgrade this particular servo proactively.
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 3 года назад
Hey thank you for the comment! yes change the servo or purchase the servo at the same time you purchase the plane. I do like the aeroscout but have recently purchased the apprentice rtf 1.5. Both are fun planes to fly!

My son landed rough only a few feet off the ground and stripped it right off. I took it apart to see if I could rotate the stripped gear to a good spot but it’s splined so you can’t. Just upgrade to metal gear servo 👍🏼

Been lookin into getting a fixed wing, is it harder than a quad?
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 3 года назад
about the same i think. Learning curve is different. This particular plane is a trainer plane with stabilization, panic mode, safe mode, super easy to fly especially if you fly drones. imo its the same but different if that makes sense. the controls are identical to a drone on mode 2, its like the same. I felt terrified yet comfortable after a minute or so. Now after like 8 flights I love it... Well I will love it more once its fpv i think... This video is like my 4th flight LOS tbh this plane is so much fun! i mean you get that feeling like a drone delivers but longer flight times. I want to go like ridiculously long range in a plane mainly for the efficiency. My drone can go far but simple math, spin 4 motors or 1 motor. I think 1 motor and the ability to coast is perfect for what i have in mind.

Steering servo? You probably mean rudder servo. And if I where you I would want the stronger, more reliable servo on the elevator, you can fly without rudder, you can’t fly without elevator
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 3 года назад
on the areoscout the steering and the rudder are on the same servo but i changed the title to better suite a search. Like I broke the servo immediately and then searched "Steering servo" because i dont know anything about rc planes. No search results... I make videos on whats going on in my little world and greatly appreciate outside advice. I am learning about the rudder and what it does so I really do appreciate the intel. Rudder eh elevator need copy, Thanks again SkidzFPV, I will definitely upgrade the elevator servo. what would you recommend?
@SkidzFPV
@SkidzFPV 3 года назад
@@HolaACchillin any name brand digital metal gear servo should be fine, something with same dimensions so you don’t have to modify the mounting location. Futaba and hitec servos where always my favorite, but savox and many companies make good options.

I really do appreciate the intel. I have never considered flying fixed wing until recently. It’s way more fun that I expect! I want to make an fpv fixed wing and just like my quad I do not want crappy parts. I appreciate you!
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 3 года назад
That’s not good, are you working now? AC is just the name I have been using for like a decade. Steam and PSN it’s ACchillin But on RU-vid I had to switch over to holaacchillin. I’m not in hvac but construction in California boomed during quarantine. For me I have been working non stop because my business revolves around construction. If I could say anything it would be to open an online store that sells stuff you know a lot about. Like hvac stuff maybe? Idk, I do hope you are doing well! Much love- AC

@HolaACchillin

Hey I got ima car accident, I am late to reply lately. I used the bracket that came with the servo.
@HolaACchillin
@HolaACchillin 3 года назад
I used the small screws from the scout original servo, then used the screws to bore out the new servo bracket. I used a 1.5mm & 2.0mm wrenches to further widen the bore size. Take the left & right steering hardware from old servo. Assemble hardware on new servo bracket , feed the rudder & steering wire. Bing Bang Boom, Old hardware on new servo, plus new servo bracket. Apologies for the delay
