It worked on my Dell Latitude E6430, which didn't meet the minimum requirements by Win11. Right after the installation the machine was running very slow, due to the updating going on in the background. Then, a couple of updates failed to install. But as of today after a couple restarts requested by Windows Update, finally the pc is up to date and so far is running good. Thanks for your very clear and to the point tutorial. Cheers!
If you have a licensed version of Win 10, you'll get the same licensed version of Windows 11. So if you have a properly licensed Win 10 Home and perform the upgrade, you'll get a fully licensed Win 11 Home. So if your Win 10 license is valid, yes.
I have Windows 10 Home version: 22H2 however my pc says: THIS PC DOESN'T CURRENTLY MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO RUN WINDOWS 11 Will your method still work for me ? Thanks
I tried to do this the way you did in the video there was a few issues I came across... first the driver location was F: not E: as it was in your video... second was that I tried to change the name on the shortcut to product server and it also wouldn't let me change it . and when i tried to run it anyway it said that The PC Must support TPM 2.0 - PC must support secure boot.... not sure how that works it is a gaming computer don't know if that makes a difference? But if you can help that would be great
Hi, thanks for the video, maybe you can answer a question. I have a lot of music production software on my windows 10 pc, if i upgrade, will it keep ( or should it keep ) all of these & the extra folders i have added to the C drive etc or will i have to reinstall them all afterwards? What about email, i use outlook ( office 21 i think it is ) and have many folders created within my outlook, will it just keep all of those as well? Thanks.
Your detailed instructions made the change from Windows 10 to 11 easy. It really worked. Thanks for all the info and your hard work on making this video. Yes, I am now a subscriber. Thanks again!
So I decided to download the Windows 11 23h2 pro version from Microsoft and install it on my 12 year old Acer Aspire 5750G laptop. All went smoothly, and it's not showing signs of any problems 😀. I bypassed Microsofts compatability checker to allow the installation process. It has also been activated with Microsoft 😀. Not bad for a 12 year old laptop which specs are, Acer Aspire 5750G running i5-2450M 2.5GHz with turbo boost to 3.1GHz, 750GB HHD, 6GB DDR3 memory, it's nothing special by today's standards but when I bought it 12 years ago it was of good specification and it wasn't cheap!!
@sheridans It's also now fully updated itself with all the latest updates, and the laptop runs like a dream. I have ordered some new RAM for it as this was my plan before switching from Windows 10 22H2. I am going to try 2 x 8GB DDR3 RAM in it and see what happens. I mainly use the laptop to monitor live my CCTV DVR and to do video editing with Filmora for RU-vid. It's crazy that there are people shelling out big money on new laptops/desktops because they think their current system is now obsolete because Microsoft has blocked unsupported hardware 😞.
10:00 after this step it’s showing “We can’t tell if your PC has enough space to continue installing Windows Server. Try restarting setup”. I tried it again but it’s still showing me that, I don’t know what to do please help! And I have 100GB left in my C drive.
Unfortunately this can happen when you've got something funky going on woth your partitions, which often requires rebuilding BCD which is beyond the scope of this video. It's also easy to brick your system if you do it wrong.
Did wot u said. from win 10 pro us to win 11 pro us. starts installing till 31% then the whole process simply vanishes - I had task manager open (after several tries) doesn't even restart once just process is killed. I removed all unnecessary USB & stuff.any thoughts?
I updated the property of shortcut, applied and saved it. Then when I double click on the shortcut and choose yes on user account control pop up, it gives me an error saying setup.exe - Bad Image. is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error, Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status Oxc0000020. Any suggestions to resolve this plesae?
@@sheridans Thanks for your quick reply. When I downloaded the Windows 11, the extension of the downloaded file was '. crdownload' and so it was not showing the 'mount' option to open the downloaded folder. I changed the extension from . crdownload to .ISO to get the mount option. Not sure if that had caused any issue.
The option to keep files and apps is not available it cant be selected its GREYED OUT. I really dont wont to install all the stuff that i have. Is there a fix?
As long as it goes smoothly as in the video, and it gives you the keep data and applications option you'll be fine. If it's unsupported hardware, keep.in mind Microsoft may introduce updates that break it in the future
Sheridan another question please...My PC shows all good except TPM not detected (I might be able to enable it) also Processor not currently supported for windows 11 Am I running a risk by installing windows 11 especially when October 2025 rolls around...I remember when I had windows xp...and when that was no longer supported by microsoft my pc bombed...you said there are additional perameters for unsypported CPU and TPM....is it still a risk not getting updates after 2015 ? Thank you very much...just cannot afford a new pc
There will be no security updates for Win 10 after october 2025, running anything that isn't supported or is EoL isnalwqys a risk. I'm have it running on unsupported PC which is fine atm. Interestingly, Win 11 Enterprise doesn't have the requirements apparently. I need to look into this, obviously that license will have a cost associated with it.
I have read the comments and heard that the download needs to be the same language as the windows ( because the option to keep everything was grayed out ) how to know what language is my windows? (sorry im kinda bad at PC's)
Someone else in this thread said they experienced the same problem, they fixed by downloading the ISO that was in the same language as their operating system.
When i rename target location ; after apply pop up shows 'the name specified in the target box is not valid.make sure the path and file name are correct.' Please help!! 😢😢
Thanks for your quick feedback and also for the video. There's being a space between double quote and forward SLS. I missed it.That's why this error occur .Now it works. Thanks.
Just got the warning about end of life for windows 10! This walk through was great! 100% think its a tool to get your system updated. Had to make a few changes to the UEFI SETTINGS and TMP Setting in bios but this walk through works great
hi! so my machine is not a weak one gtx1080 ti, i7 8700, 16gb ram and windows said i don't meet the minimum requirements to install windows 11 will this method work?
I can't possibly comment on where you purchased your PC, and the price you paid. If you follow my instructions it will work, for now unless Microsoft change things; which wouldn't suprise me. How old is the pc for $2500?
