@@krow120 Do you have to? Im upgrading from a 1650 to a 4070S and i wanted to know if i have to use DDU before upgrading or if i can just install it and then update
@@Drkzy when you upgrade from nvidia to the same you don’t have to ddu. You just have to install the new card and update. Only have to ddu when you switch brands
One of the most important thing when installing the 4070 super is plugging the 12 h plug in. If you don't have a direct plug in for it and have to use the adapter that comes with it. Make sure you hook up the 2 -3( depending on maker) cables to it correctly. One land mine people step on is. There is one psu cable that has 2 6 pins pig tailed together, but are on the same cable. Don't use both of these on the adapter. Use only one of them, then the other from a different cable. Other wise it will fry the gpu within a week or so of us. Hope this helps.
Hi there, make sure when installing a 4070 ti super you avoid this land mine. If you have to use the adapter one of the 6 pin cables will have 2 6 pins on the same cable pig tail together. Don't use both of them, just one then another 6 pin from a different cable, other wise it will fry your gpu within a weeks time.
Nice card Kip although this obviously has a minimum board, processor, memory and power requirement. What are your PC specs and the minimum specs required to run this card?
there is nothing called minimum specs to run a card, you can run this on a i5 2500 if you want too. is it preferred? nope, does it work? definitely, me personally would not pair it with anything less than a 9900k-10900k/5600x/5700x/5800x.
thanks for the guide i have not installed a gpu in 3 years just upgraded from a 2070 super to 4070 what cpu and motherboard do you recommend that is not to pricey atm my cpu is i7-9700F but its bottlenecking the cpu by a lot in cpu insteive games but in gpu insteive its fine in cod mw2 it was getting 90% bottleneck im going to be upgrading my cpu motherboard and ram in about 3 weeks will the i5 12400F bottleneck it there is a webiste in my country nz that does a pc kit that has a ASRock B660M Pro i5 12400F will that be decent so my gpu can keep up with my cpu?
I don't think you realize the trauma you've cause when you started popping out the little phone stand pieces and then just moved on without completion.....
I been using a GTX 1060 6gb for years. finally upgrading to a RTX 4070 super, it's kind of exciting and can't wait. even if my cpu is going to be bottle necked. and need to upgrade my motherboard ad cpu next.
Upgrading to a 4070S next month from my EVGA 3060, looking forward to the upgrade, i own a prebuilt and this is the first time I'm going to tamper with my beautiful machine. This video was clear, concise and articulate, i appreciate it!
I built a pc with 5600g a year ago, I want to put a dedicated gpu in the available slot. Do I need to uninstall integrated graphics card drivers? The gpu is rx 6600
Been wanting to upgrade for months finally did. Ditched the 3060 12 gig and recently got a 4070 super. Knew with the way the launch was there was going to be a refresh. Waited it out till the super came and even lowered in price. Got a 4070 super msi Venus x3 for 600 been loving it. Mostly when I play it’s with the mates so shooters so it works great for that
Great presentation! Even though I'm very familiar with building computers there wasn't a moment where I wanted to fast-forward... especially with my unfamiliarity of current gen graphics cards that you're showing. I hope you see this soon, and have a brief second to reply... it would be greatly appreciated as like yours did to you, my two graphics cards are teasing me as well... I also have an older CPU; it's an i9 9900K., however, I ended up having Two cards here unopened, and teasing me, ergo, twice the torture. haha 1) ASUS Dual RTX 4070 OC 2) ASUS Dual RTX 4070 Super. One of these will be returned. According to online stats and benchmarks my i9 9900K is ~20% faster than an AMD 2700X. The most taxing scenario on my potential setup will be gaming. My questions are: A) Do you ever feel bottlenecking during your minimal gaming sessions with your 2700X & 4070? B) In your experience do you think the Super would be too much horsepower for the i9 9900K to handle for gaming? I just don't want to get into a scenario if I keep the Super, and wish I kept the 4070 OC because my CPU utilization is going through the roof with a 4070 Super version... which might happen anyway with a plain 4070...? Gigabyte Z390 WiFi Pro i9 9900K 32 GB 3200MHz Ram RTX 3060 Corsair RM750x Gold PSU 1440P 24" 60Hz oc'd to 75Hz display I don't plan to upgrade CPU/MB until I permanently move to Laos in a few years... currently in Chicago. Perhaps you're more familiar with the AMD product line, but any advice or info, if possible, would really help. Thank You Very Much!
Thanks for the installation part of the video. It looks like it will just fit on my 2 slots for my motherboard, the slot directly under for me is my wifi card. There is a bit of space and just measures for a fit.. if not then I'll get one of those USB wifi antennas.
Is there a difference in the type of 4070 gpu?! Mine says zotac gaming GeForce RTX on the side of it and mine is a 4070… regardless of it being Asus, zotac gaming, TUF gaming or MSI on the inside it’s still JUST an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 right?!?! The company name on it don’t mean anything?!?!
I think the “4070” part is just the processing chip. The brand name reflects on the overall wrapper unit that surrounds the chip, so they could differ with fans count/quality, and the materials of the wrapping build. Overall, it shouldn’t really matter, generally people say if you get better brands it’ll cool off the chip better so you’d get more performance, but it’s honestly so minimal that it’s absolutely not worth the couple hundred bucks difference at all
Just upgraded from a tuf 4070 to a 4070 ti super. When i power up the psu a red LED light comes on. Soon as i power the motherboard it goes away. Do you know what this red LED means? All cables plugged in tight. Some say its normal. Thanks for the videos
Hello. Can you please tell me if i'm gonna make a good upgrade for games and photography? At this moment i have the Asus dual 1660 super 6GB and i'm thinking on buying the Asus dual 4070 super 12GB along with my CPU (I7-13700K) Thank you
My computer is dell xps 8940, 11th gen intel i9K , ram 32GB, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660Ti. The graphics card has one 8 pin power connecter. There isn't an extra power connecter. Anyone have recommendations for what I should upgrade to?? I don't know anything and don't want to mess up. I do video editing in Davinci Resolve and record gaming videos.
Hmmm you might be stuck because Dells sometimes use custom power supplies - normally I’d say just upgrade the power supply. Maybe ask on the LTT Forums
@@kiphakes Theres some photos on Amazon where it seems like theres only one 8 pin port on them. So maybe its possible? Heres the title of it, to see if its makes sense for it to be one 8 pin: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4060 V2 OC Edition (PCIe 4.0, 8GB GDDR6, DLSS 3, HDMI 2.1a, DisplayPort 1.4a, 2-slot design, Axial-tech fan design, 0dB technology, and more) Its $310. Thanks for answering. I found the forum website, but do I have to sign up in order to post anything? No text box shows up anywhere other than search.
@@kiphakesThanks for the response! I think your Asus card is brilliant because it can run on a single 8pin power connector. I have a tiny 2-fan 3070 and even that needs 2 8pins. Just shows how efficient the 40 series is compared to the 30 series. Meanwhile, my new 4080 has the 12VHPWR connector and it's making me nervous... Hopefully it doesn't melt 🤞
I got my first pre built 4060 and Intel 14400f combo and i upload some videos in my YT channel. This video is perfect because i plan to upgrade in the future to the same card or 5070.
is it safe to have my new card in and uninstall the old drivers that way? Switching from AMD to NVIDIA. (I don't have my AMD card anymore and those drivers are still installed)
Why did you not mention the fact that you need to use a DDU to uninstall all the old drivers. I think that's a very important part. Just doing the swap is OK I guess but you will come across driver conflicts soon.
Thank you for the video! I just bought a RTX 4070 and watching this gave me a good idea of what to expect. Very good for information and confidence, haha.
Ran into some bad luck with mine. My 4070 Dual caused the PC not to boot, so I'm going to have to order a replacement. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time because it does seem like a stellar card!
So it has this coin whine that’s one of the worst DEPENDING on your system. So it’s just a gamble. I got this cuz I can’t fit a bigger model and it’s supposed to be silent in a lot of other benchmarks. I’ll return it if it doesn’t go well with my Corsair psu
i noticed you mention that you arent overclocking your gpu... actually you are ya know :) what it is... nvidia sets the recommended core frequencies for each chip and then power requirements and msrp (rrp in the uk etc...)... this is your founders edition spec... after that board partners (asus gigabyte etc) are relatively free to make their own changes to the base design into order to differentiate their product.. stuff like adding better beefier coolers , higher quality VRMs to control the power (NOT RAM THOUGH BECAUSE NVIDIA ARE NAZI's haha) and with that they are able to set their own core frequencies for their specific design . nvidias website says base clock is 1.92ghz and boost is 2.48ghz for the 4070... your gpu there will have the same base frequency but your quiet mode (which is still over clocked ) will boost to 2520mhz and the p mode (performance ) is also overclocked but a little further to 2550mhz boost according to asus's website... so ye there ya go... youre overclocking already- and its worth bearing in mind if you ever decide to you do actually want to overclock further because your card isnt being sold as "overclock capable" - theyre all overclock capable with respect to the silicon lottery... its being sold as actually already overclocked. thats it ...enjoy :D
