As someone who has the hips of a rusted robot, this is insanely helpful! Cannot thank you enough Stefi for dropping some golden nuggets of knowledge on us.
I just went back to gym 2 months ago since all the covid thing happened It’s been 2 years since I did deadlift last time. I forgot all those stuff and I’m learning again. I’m gonna watch your video 1-2 times a day as I breaking out my comfort zone. Yesterday was my first time doing deadlift in 2 years!! 😊
Thank you so much for this excellent info, today I did all your recommendations to do Sumo, it went Great ! I could pass my 225 lbs to 275 lbs, it has been many years not to do Sumo deadlift. I really appreciate all your recommendations.
Do you think behind the back deadlifts with bands and chains in squat shoes on a bosu ball with fingerless gloves and double underhand grip is a good accessory for deadlifts. Thanks stefi
Love the video!! Recently I've been having a lot of tightness in my hips, specifically worse when I do heavy db RDLS, it feels like theres little screws being pressed into my hip joints 😵 will definitely be trying this out before lower body days.
Awesome video!!! Please make other warm-up videos specific for the squat, bench and conventional deadlift!! Thank you very much for putting out so much valuable content!!!
Now these are some awesome tips. What do you think about light deficit deadlifts on, let's say, your bench day, as a mobility excersize? (With or without pause near bottom position)
Hey Doc!. I wanted to know about the different grips for deadlift, eventually going to straps when grips the limiting factor, what should my grip be before that? Any tips on picking one to focus on, switch and double overhand are the only ways i know
Nice! Going to implement these into my routine, always have issues with dead’s lol Hope your channel grows fast! Would you use the same warm up/stretches for regular dead’s ?
Do you recommend warming up for conventional and sumo separately even if you are doing them on the same day? I do hybrid powerlifting and I’ve noticed my adductors are super tight on day 6 when I do heavy conventional and then go to sumo. I’m wondering if that’s what I’m doing wrong. I usually warm up for conventional and then just do a quick lighter sumo set when I transition instead of warming up again. Thanks for the awesome videos! New favorite RU-vidr 😉
this is very helpful no entiendo el ingles a la perfeccion estaría super bien si pusieras subtitulos para tus seguidores latinos :D como sea nunca me pierdo tus videos
Stefi Cohen are mobility drills best to do on off days or to do the same day with lifting days and as for practicing technique what day should that happen?
I really believe it’s possible she could be a wholly natural athlete. I’m not sure I’ve EVER seen someone with better leverages for the sumo deadlift. She can start the pull with an almost completely upright back, and her mechanics are just about the best I’ve ever seen. All she has to do is eat a lot and keep doing what has clearly become a second nature, fairly easy movement pattern for her and I can’t see why she wouldn’t pretty much be able to maximize her growth potential. It’s crazy to think this lady is pushing 4x body weight until you consider that she puts herself in the anatomically PERFECT position to do it. I also think she looks like Meghan Markle which never hurts. Watching your videos FINALLY has me stretching the shit out of my adductors and considering sumo and I can tell already it’s going to be much better for my legs, especially my quads, than my endless conventional pulling has been. Thanks for breaking glass ceilings and weight barriers and showing the whole world that leverages, anatomy, and physical science are truly the key to maximizing your ability to move weight.
