Yay! Science Week goes on with Rational Animations AND I get mentioned by name! :D (Or well, close enough, It's just Epic Galaxy, not plural) Glad I could help you remember this channel exists! I think they really cover some interesting and unique topics but like I said the last time you reacted to them, they do a little less of that "Bite sized knowledge pieces" thing compared to Kurzgesagt so it can sometimes be a bit harder to understand. Anyways, onto the reaction! 2:01 Technically, any program that let's you DO something is a ".exe" file since it stands for "executable"! That probably includes most video games on your PC as well as programs for Video Editing, Image Editing, Music Making, and more! Though in this case, it's a Program that... simulates a brain! 8:35 *So you're saying a Super Fancy High-End Gaming PC has the same amount of computing power as a Human Brain? **_Shame a lot of their users don't use all of that computing power in THEIR brains..._* 11:33 I mean, even if computing human brains turns out to be impossible or it later gets outlawed for whatever reason. If we've gotten THAT far into developing stuff for this whole ordeal, we'd honestly probably end up learning a whole ton about the Human Brain (the real fleshy one), AI, and so on. So even if we 'fail' at the initial goal, the technology and knowledge we gained from it could be used in other areas to the greater good. For instance, better Brain Scan technology may help us solve and cure many brain related injuries or sicknesses! 11:55 Also, just gotta point out that the Sound Design and Music for some of Rational Animations' videos are done by none other than Epic Mountain Music! The same people who do Kurzgesagt's Music AND also Glitch Productions' (You know, the people who make Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus) Sound Design too! Those guys really get around! 12:20 It's actually crazy to me how the 3 steps they mentioned are really just stuff we already know how to do (for the most part). We just gotta do them BETTER so that we can achieve the goal of "Uploading" a Human Brain! 14:00 This one's another one of those big serious philosophical debates. But personally, I'm of the opinion that if a digital conscious being becomes advanced enough to the point that it can act and function like a real, fleshy conscious being does, then are they not largely the same then? Like, until and unless we can prove stuff like a "soul" exists and that it for whatever reason cannot exist in AI/ computer generated conscious beings, I see no problem in saying a Fully Digital Human is roughly the same as a Fleshy one. Though of course, I would hope that in such a case, authorities worldwide can quickly set up rules and regulations around this sort of thing to make sure we're being careful in our usage of this stuff. Because I don't want a repeat of this whole AI Panic again but with companies playing with ACTUAL "People" in possibly cruel and unfathomable ways! So overall, Science and Technology are super crazy and cool! I'm just a little scared about how us silly humans with our monkey brains are going to somehow turn it into something terrifying beyond our comprehension!...
