Thanks mate- I had to exit AU LAB- so it would SCAN for plugins. All sorted now. I have had 42 hours of headache inducing fart-assing around. Very disappointing that Logic did not at least include a OPTION- for backwards compatibility. Then again- these third parties had plenty of notice this is the most reliable work-around at this moment. Cheers from Australia.

This is way too much work to go through, thanks for uploading anyway, someone may find it useful. There has got to be an easier way. Imagine doing this for a huge project with 100's of plug ins, no thanks!

Apple is forcing plug in software builders to make it 64 bit (they had already four years time to do that) the same way they forced with the introduction of the iMac fabrics to make stuff with USB connection in stead of the terrible big printer block connectors. So be glad, as usual they have the guts to accelerate the technical progress... All the cloner users will take profit of that.

no need to add audio trcks and route the signals and all just when u are clicking on add external midi in logic there is a option called use external inst....jst click that in input select input 1-2,and in output select the plugin u added on au labs... hope this helps

i did everything from your tutorial but it doesn't work for me, i can't hear a sound but the "color bar" that shows there's a sound in it, move when i hit the note. anyone has the same problem as me? i'm using OSX 10.9.3. I downloaded AU lab and Soundflower 1.6.6b (the latest for now) but it said OSX 10.6-10.8 so i guess it doesn't support OSX 10.9 yet. but thanks for the vdo.

I guess this would work in other 64 bit DAWs running on MAC too right? Also, in case some one does have 64 bit plugins in the same session, would you load those in AU Lab too, or would you have to change your input settings in the DAW again?

Thanks for this, it was really useful. One slight issue though... I've got my 32 bit synths working in Logic, but how do I get back to the synth interface to make tweaks to the sounds? I assume it's done through AU Lab? Please help - I'm so close to having all my synths back in Logic but not quite there yet :(

This making me nuts! I really need help please! When I load Sylenth1 and put notes it doesnt work, and when I try to output it AU Lab closes and says there is a problem, I really need help please! What can I do?

Do you know if it's at all possible to use synth sounds from the Analog Lab that comes with the Arturia Minilab in Logic Pro X? (using el capitan)

Whenever I play any notes on the External MIDI, the sound isn't carrying through to the Audio Track. What may be the issue?

okay this works all the way till i press a key on the on screen keyboard and then there is no sound... it shows that there is sound under the software instrument under the volume bar, but i can't hear it

Awesome. I see you created a stereo audio track, but the recorded waveform looks mono, showing only one channel. Did Apple cheese out on stereo waveform views for audio like they did on Final Cut X? Hope not...

Great video, I'm recording now my Synthesizer with M-Tron 32 bit plugin and it works great thanx to this video. can you please upload a video on how to use Antares 32 bit FX plugin or any other FX plugin in Logic pro x. cause i tried same method with Antares i can see Antares 32 FX plugin in the AU Lab but it doesn't appear in Logic while doing the same method as i did and succeeded with M-Tron 32 bit.

very useful tuto.. for 32bits instruments but what's about 32bits PLUGINS? like EQ, compressors or else? do you have any clue? i can add my favorit EQ as an effect on the Output track, or on a bus (Edit > Add Bus) after adding an audio channel.. And then..? what? ++ By default, Sound Flower is set on None (OFF) which means no output. One might want to set it on Built-in Output or any other device listed ++ AULab also crashes on start up because of some plugins i had to remove from library in order to have it to run ++ thank you

Everything works until you get to the menu inside logic that says the name of your plug in "purity" and the midi channels 1-16. I followed exact steps and created a Sylenth however it does not show in that logic menu so instead i choose "GM DEVICE" Then it comes through but the note is sustaining. Some kind of midi loop I assume the issue has something to do with "Sylenth" not showing in the logic Device menu. Any thoughts/ideas???

When i record something via AU Lab and then try to gi back into logic to record something else there, i still get the sound from the AU Lab instrument i loaded - if i mute the instrument, the sound from that particular instrument aint playing no more, even if the midi notes are written, how do i workaround this ?

hey dude, nice video. Wanna ask u something. I use Logic Pro 9 and it tells me very often that the Sound Engine cant handle everything. CPU Overload, but i have 16GB RAM and i7. How i can solve the problem, i use the standart core audio

My AU Lab doesn't read my Waves units even though it scanned them and they run when I am in Garageband. What am I doing wrong here? I did the Waves AU Utility and cleared the cache in AU Lab like 3 times both.

GUYS if you're having trouble getting the MIDI to record make sure you go up to the Soundflower icon and select Built-in Output!

Ok well I just began using Logic Pro X and realized that I had to have it in advanced mode so I could get external midi track enabled... sheesh, well, it's not such a big jump from Garageband... but anyway, could you explain how to setup Sound Flower? Seems AUlab does not want to recognize Sound Flower... I have a M-Audio MobilePre audio interface hooked up and it is showing up in both programs and perhaps it is blocking something? please help!

Ok I figured out how to do this finally, but it is very laggy, and there must be something i am doing wrong, because i'm running a logic pro x on a i7 16ram quad core mac mini brand new and it's not the computer or lack of power. I wish I could do this step by step with somebody on skype sharing my screen, because I feel I have tried everything and there is something little bit I am missing, remember, I just began using Logic Pro X this morning... cut me some slack some one and help me out :D

when i have time I'm going to look for a better, more practical way to do this. It's so annoying to have to use the 32 bit plugins as an "external midi instrument" this is ridiculous in my opinion. The fact that i can't even use sylenth1 (which one of the most widely used softsynths today) is such a turn off. I'm going to stay in logic 9 for now i think. eventually, if a better way doesnt come along, i think im going to have to switch DAWs. It's sad, i dont wanna leave logic. But eventually i might have to.
