I have a spliter that I found in an old house years ago. I didn't know what it was at first but I knew it had to do something with film. Thanks, now I know what it really is and how to use it !

I started using Super Glue because I couldn't use the cement on polyester-base film which most of my S8mm films are. Super Glue works on both types of film. I demonstrated both methods because of many requests and questions on how to do it. I always think it's good to have options....then picks what's works best for you. I use Presstapes at times too.

Hi I started off with the quick splicers. These as you may know butt join the film together which last for 4 frames. This can be annoying as the perfs on the tape don’t always line up. Then I used Cement splicers but you have this 1 frame with a scrapped up line in it and they can break For a long time now I have used CIR units. These are the last word in splicers, trust me! Google CIR GUILLOTINE SUPER 8 SPLICER. I have given you a thumbs up on this as I think that you prry well have it spot on

Thanks a lot. Excuse my bad english. I treat the 2 faces and i put cinecol agfa on the 2 faces. Notice sold with the king was so bad !!!. You helped me a lot.

Another great video, though I'm not fond of the idea of using superglue for splicing. Most film cement is mainly acetone, which may be bought at a paint store; though it does not work as well as real cement. (Even nail-polish remover might work in a pinch!) Cement will not splice polyester-base film; though I'm curious if superglue might. Have you tried it? Please keep up your wonderful work.

Could you use multi-purpose cement? Because I don't know if there's a difference between film cement and multi-purpose cement.
