How To Use A Barber's Hone 

Nice ty in taking my barber state board practical and I need to know this. Even though it’s outlawed in most states you still have to learn it

Sweet vid, I use a keen cutter barbers hone that my Gf has and it's awesome. I use that hone on a fiskars x7 hatchet and svord vtb bowie and they are scary sharp for such large cutting edges.

try edge trailing strokes.....it takes the bite out of the edge

Great video thanks a lot, what is the grit level around these barber hones? say if they are somewhere between 8-10k, so what is the difference between an ordinary quality wetstones like Naniwa or Natural hones like coticule or arkansas or charnly forest etc.? is it the size so it can be carried in pocket? If you already have a decent set of natural and/or synthetic hones, then what is the main reason for these barber hones?

Is it possible to hone a straight razor that sharp as a feather razor blade ?

So you would strop after you use the honing stone, correct?

What stone is that?

Honing is removing metal. "Polishing" also removes metal. 10 to 15 strokes is too many for a barber hone.
