When I purchased my tractor my box blade, bush hog, and large trailer came with it. Those items have proven to be very useful to me. I even learned something new on how to use the box blade. Thank you for your videos, and I have your web site saved since I need some farming implements for my tractor.

Thanks for making these videos. Finally got my first tractor in January and my property has really taken shape (been here 25 year) in the past month now that things are drying out. I really love to fish, but I think I'm getting to liking my tractor more than my boat! Actually, now that I have that tractor, I might have more time to use that boat. on my box blade after I get the grade to how I want it I then take the top link and draw it in so the rear of the box is pointed downward more and the front of the box is more upward that way it will not dig into the ground anymore and you can use the back of the box with that angle iron to get a great looking smooth finish

I have a half acre lot at home, planning on ripping it all up with the tines/shredders and then leveling it out, and putting some slope where its needed. Just looking for tips, and tricks of doing it successful yourself for somebody who doesn't know what they are doing, but likes to go play tractor out in the yard.

Can the box blade be used to spread topdressing (say 1/4" thick) without damaging the turf (say tall fescue but to 3")?
@fhuber7507

You want more of a drop spreader. Apply when the grass goes dormant and then follow up with a chain link fence section used as a harrow. The box blade will scalp sections of your grass.

When would you want to use a box blade over a back blade? What are the pros and cons of each?
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 7 лет назад
A box blade is better for moving material such as dirt or gravel because it can be contained within the box. It is also better for grading compacted soil because of the ripper shanks. A scrape blade is better for clearing snow from driveways/roads and creating/cleaning side ditches because of the adjustment features. Feel free to email us or give us a call with any questions. Thanks for watching!

My dad bought a Ford 8N . unfortunately he didn't have a box blade for it. Had a bucket up front & a few drags & a small plow. It was a lot of fun. Just wanted to share that. thanks for the video but I have another issue. I have an area that is full of various size rocks/gravel that i want to remove and use in my driveway. The issue is that even with my shanks full adjusted down and my box fully tilted to get max ripping and grabbing, the bucket still HOPS and I barely get any material. Any suggestions for adjustment.
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 7 лет назад
Thanks for watching! It's probably because with three point implements, no downforce is being applied. You'd get the best results with a rock bucket on the loader: www.everythingattachments.com/Tractor-Universal-Skid-Steer-Quick-Attach-Rock-Bucket-s/65.htm

Nice job, you made using one look easy, it's not, takes skill. well said; top link adjustment is key, and notice kiddies, that's likely a 80 hp tractor on loose dirt, don't think you are going to hang a box blade on gramp's 8N and go do big bidness, be more like dropping anchor. I agree, next to my brush hog, my box blade is a very valuable tool. Good vid.

I want to crown my driveway. What do you recommend a box blade or land plane?
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 4 года назад
Either can be used to form a crown by adjusting your RH side link lower than the LH. It would probably take more passes to develop it with a land plane, but the land plane will most definitely be the most efficient and easy for future maintenance. We have the best land planes in the industry here: www.everythingattachments.com/Tractor-Land-Levelers-Land-Graders-s/9893.htm You're welcome to give us a call or email if you need assistance matching the best one for your tractor and application! @EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 5 лет назад
Thanks for watching! If the box blade is designed properly with the right geometry, you really shouldn't need to use weight. I guess it depends on the box blade's construction to determine if it would be OK to add weight.
