Just received our clay pot yesterday but have to return to Amazon due to defect in pot. The inner rim of the pot has an irregularity which prevents the lid from seating and it just rocks back and forth leaving a gap. Lid checks good on flat surface. Manufacturer must not be checking the fit before boxing. We have a Donabe and it seals perfect. We love your Wok and the chopsticks are being delivered today.
Hi, I am sorry that the clay pot had an issue. Thank you so much for the feedback that helps us to improve the quality control process. Just want to explain why is this happening. Clay or ceramic products can never be perfect. The clay will shrink after it came out of the hot kiln. You can't predict how the clay will shrink so every pot is going to be slightly different. Our quality control will have to personally go there to match every pot and lid. That is a huge amount of work. Another reason is that this is our first batch of clay pots. Lack of experience makes it harder for us to predict all the problems. Even though we did match every single lid and pot but there are some that got missed out. I do appreciate your feedback and going forward, the quality will only get better and better as we are learning more =) I feel bad that you didn't have a good shopping experience with us. I ordered the Clay pot. I am in Canada. The pot arrived a day ahead of the due date. Beautiful pot with hammered walls and a gorgeous lid. I love the artwork on it. Solid. I own two other similar ones of a different size, but I know this one will be my favourite. You can also bake bread in it as it can take the 500 F degree heat needed. The crust is spectacular. Ah!!!! Beautiful timing Mandy. I recently stocked up on some Chinese herbs and dried goods for soups and teas etc and was looking for a traditional clay or even glass pot as I have been informed its muuuuuuch better to cook these ingredients in clay or glass so the metals don't react with the herbs etc. Am emailing you now as I live in Australia. YAY!!!!!! Oh, is this pot ok on a flat top glass stove. I dont believe its induction.

People in Arizona have been using clay pots for ever they are taught to in Mexico so when they move here they continue to use them I was scared the first time also but you don't need to be I will be getting this one it's beautiful and Mandy did a great job infact yesterday she used the clay pot to fix a meal. 🤗
@@ram1brn you are 100% right and I use to put everything in mine and set it on medium and when I got home from work dinner was ready I worked for a Cardiologist in Sherman Oaks, Ca and my two daughters would come to my work after school. My Husband at that time would come home at all hours but super was ready if he didn't want to wait. I still use a crockpot today . I would use Mandy's for smaller meals as my daughter' are now 41&43 and have there own family's !
Very pretty lotus root with koi and handle decorated with sun rays. Can't wait to try this one, thx for developing product. I have a donabe ( nice, fun to collect) and this price seems affordable. Like idea of no cooked rice to season it and seems durable. I also use baking dishes in large, med, small ...ceramic casserole dishes with lids. Good to do rolled flatbread like things, (burritos, lasagne,) acts like dutch oven for tender cakes. makes very good chicken if you do low and slow oven temp time. Clay keeps nutrients best, so it is like extra food per mouthful. Hate to say it but if need to puree meat best way to cook for toddlers, pets, or elder years or if you get flu. Fast to put in oven then can do something else. Very good for cooking dry beans for about 5 hour soup too.

I still LOVE the wok I bought from you. I am old and have arthritis and wish it had a small handle on the side opposite the long handle but I still use it a lot.

I have an old school claypot I purchased nearly 40 years ago, they are great to use but it needed soaking in water for 24 hours for any impurities in the clay

Make sure people don't confuse this pot with a "Roemertopf" which is also made from clay but cannot be used for cooking on direct heat. I just ordered your Wok and I just might put this clay pot on my wishlist.
I've been wanting a clay pot for a while, and you really helped answer some questions I had, so thanks, and I would really like to buy your version due to the awesome quality control, and to support your channel! Buuut, I'm concerned it won't work on my electric stove - I know you say it will, but when you briefly flipped the pot over, it looks like it has ridges, and since my electric hob is a flat ceramic model and NOT coiled rings, I think the only point of contact would be those "feet". Can you tell me if you think it would work or not on those types of flat-top ranges? Cheers Mandy, you rock :)

This looks beautiful! Do you know how much the pot weighs? I have a couple of Dutch ovens (cast iron) and they are lovely but SO heavy. This looks much lighter.

When i have more money i consider to buy the Wok next Year, the Silit Wokpan, create "wok e" aroma, and works simlar but its not this hot as a carbon steel one. Also takes a bit longer .And i feel confident to use a Wok now.

if you pour alcohol on the lid, you can light it up. This way, your clay pot will have 2 side heat sources at the same time so it cookes fast. It is important for some special dishes that require double sided heat.
6 qt will be a bit too bit. It is hard to make such big clay pot in general. ours is 4.8 qt, which is a pretty good size. It can fit in a medium size chicken.

I do wounder if it is safe to use on a glass top cookstove. That is what we have. I have been looking for a clay pot and this video has sold me on yours. I hope I can use it on my stove.
Hi Mandy I bought your clay pot and its my new favorite pot! It is much lighter than my traditional dutch oven, also easier to clean. The surface inside and outside of the pot is surprisingly smooth. I have used it for both soup and stew. It gets very hot and even continues to boil after I take it off the heat. I have used it both on top of and inside of the oven. Mandy, I really love this new pot, it looks functional, durable, and beautiful. I looked at it with my wife and she said that we don't need this because we already have a large cast iron dutch oven. Can you tell me if a glazed clay pot is different than a dutch oven and if it's worth having both? Money and storage space in our kitchen require us to think before making any purchase. Thanks!
If you already own a dutch oven, you probably don't need the clay pot. They work quite similar except caly pot is special at making clay pot rice LOL! Clay pot is lighter and dish washer safe. Dutch is not because on the edge of the pot, there is a cycle that is un glazed and you can see the iron. If you wash it in the dishwash, that cycle will start rusting.

love your videos! This may be a dumb question but is it okay to use this on a traditional electric burner stove?...the kind with the metal coils? Also is the lid handle heat proof? Thank you so much!
Yes, it is completely fine to use on electric burner. The handle make get hot after a long time simmering so be sure to use oven mitts. This clay pot is oven safe too.
I am very interested. I want to make clay pot rice and perhaps some curries and fish stews. I like that it comes pre-seasoned. I have some small clay pots that I had to season myself.
I love the look of this pot! You talked extensively about the heat capacity of the pot itself, so this may be a dumb question, but is the heat capacity of the lid just as high? As in, can this pot be put in the oven with the lid on?
