This was super useful! I have a 125-Watt amp with two twelve-inch speakers that I’ve had since the late 1970s that has been gathering dust under a table for years and years. It’s way overpowered for home use and it weighs more than my seventy-five year old back can safely lift. I’m trying out a Blackstar practice amp as of yesterday, and you just helped me understand how to use it. Confusion gone! Many thanks! Subscribed!
I finally pulled the trigger on my first electric guitar and the Katana Air was recommended to me by a good friend who is an accomplished guitarist. But I was a bit confused about how this thing works until watching this video. I'm discovering a lot of pre-programmed tones through the Boss tone studio, but this video took the mystery out of the manual adjustments and helped understand the rather cryptic instructions that came with it. I'm still learning what many of the standard electric guitar tones are and this helped with that understanding as well. So, thanks!
I have just purchased a Fender Player Plus Stratocaster SSS and ordered a Boss Katana Air Ex Wireless Modelling 35 watt Amp which will be available after one month. Greetings from Kathmandu, Nepal 🇳🇵. Much Appreciated your's tutorial , I hope this guidance video is equally useful for the Boss Katana Air Ex Wireless Modelling 35 watt Amp as well.
Thank you for teaching me how to fly the Katana air,I’ve had it for several years, and was so discouraged by the sound, I put it away until I found your video! Thanks again! Maybe, I should have read the instructions! Daaaaaah!
Thanks Desi, great vid that's going to help me get more from my practice amp. Overall appreciate your work and the wide variety of practical topics you cover!
I started out with two 10$ goodwill amps and I feel like that held me back in my learning so bad, recently ordered a Katana Mk2 100w so I’m hoping it’ll give me motivation again
Thanks for the really useful review. I've had one of these amps in my practice space for a few months and enjoy its versatility. I play my Fretboard theory lessons through the amps wireless connection.
Thank you for the help now I understand how to play with the correct bouton is for I kind of learned it a bit by myself and listening to other video that is nothing compared to what you thought me today now I will start playing with the reverb and the delay more thanks you again I have a mustang that have a lot of different things that you can do with that when you know what you are doing like I will probably never be good enough to try to play too much with it but I recently discovered a new sound that I like to play with and I will try delay and reverb thanks you a million times I will hold on to this and I will have my answers to my questions that is great thanks you again your help is very appreciate after more than one year and I’m a subscriber and I never found this video before today but I will have fun thanks for everything you are the best to describe those amplifiers good job
Are these ok with an acoustic? I ask because I’m an acoustic couch guitarist and I’d like something like this for convenience. I notice that nobody on RU-vid has posted this amp being used with an acoustic guitar.
Yes, there is an acoustic setting that doesn't apply the electric guitar amp modeling, so you're amplifying like a PA system. You can then add some effects, such as reverb, chorus, and perhaps delay.
interesting and useful info about practice amps. Why didn't you select and demo the Acoustic amp model? It would have been helpful, at least for me, as the only electric guitars I play are electric acoustics, both nylon string and steel string, using either piezo or microphone pickups.
Most people use this amp for electric guitar and I cover the questions I typically receive. If you use this amp with an acoustic guitar, the only thing you might add is some reverb and maybe some modulation effects at times like chorus. You wouldn't want to use any of the electric guitar amp models or overdrive and distortion effects.
I discuss the Master right at the very beginning 0:00 and again later in the video. Use the Master to control the overall volume of the guitar and connected audio. Use the Gain and Volume to create your amp tone.
