This is such an awesome tool. I’m clueless when it comes to carpentry and DIY projects but suddenly have such an interest in doing things on my own. Im starting with learning how to use a drill, then starting with very mini projects. RU-vid will be my best guide moving forward.
I've been using a kreg jig for a couple of years now to repair stuff, but in between projects I forget how to do it. This video is quick and straight to the point. Thanks!!!!
The video was pretty good but something very essential you failed to mention was that those pocket holes you're drilling coincide with the length of a screw as well. You can't necessarily drill a 1" screw into a pocket hole that was drilled for a 2-1/2" screw and vice versa. If done incorrectly, that screw will come out poking through the wood at another end defeating the purpose of pocket holes. And even though a screw is long enough to pierce the second piece of wood, that doesn't mean it's a secure connection because it may have barely reached the other piece but not bitten into it enough to grab securely. Very important to mention that.
Dude! Why did I not look for this video 6 months a go...that stupid thing has been kicking my a$$ the whole time. Thanks for dumbing it down for "high school level woodworking wanna-bees" like me!
😂 After watching your very nicely done video.i was blowed away how everything was displayed very detailed and very precise it was a great video I was totally awesome. Nice thing is all the things you could do and how you can move it around and get tight Corners I like that and how you fix a table like on the table that was really awesome because a lot of people can't fix that. Keep up the good work
If I am drilling pocket holes in a piece of wood with a thickness other than 1/2, 3/4, or 1.5 inch - such as 5/8 or 1 inch; how do I determine where to place the stops on the jig. I noticed that I cannot set the stops between the given depths because the indents will not secure the stops from moving. Should I use the indicated stops for the thicker or thinner material. i.e.: use 3/4 inch or 1.5 inch indicated for drilling in material that is 1 inch thick?
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how this tool works, and your video explains it perfectly! It seems very accessible, thanks for the great demonstration.
I have bought this tool but it terms of the thickness gage it lands on the book with the i - where do I need to place the stop collar? It’s for joining scaffold boards if that helps!
