I do not have watercolor pencils. However I still love the idea of transferring your art to watercolor paper. 😊👍

I have an ancient light box - it is not bright enough to see through watercolor paper so I always transfer my sketches with graphite paper. It’s a problem because I just don’t know how dark the lines are tracing out. It’s always either way too light or too dark, at it does not erase well from the watercolor paper. I have been thinking about investing in a light pad.

I have the same problem Hannah. I use tracing paper then colour the back with graphite pencil then trace over the lines again onto my watercolour paper. It's such a laborious process and I usually have lines that are often way to light. The light box is great idea 😊

I used to do the same- then bought the graphite paper (works just like the old carbon paper). I just looked at Allison’s link on Amazon - they aren’t terribly pricey- the smaller one was 15” on the diagonal and it’s under $30 us.

I totally relate to this - I use graphite transfer paper when I use a watercolor block and sometimes the lines are too dark or too light and I can’t tell unless I lift the paper. And it’s also hard to erase the lines!
