These definitely are a game changers. While we primarily dump at the parks before leaving, being able to do a couple flushes etc.. at home is super helpful for maintaining your tanks. People are always worried it's going to be smelly or messy, it really isn't. The trick is like Matt showed is to make sure your hose is pushed around the toilet trap and you won't smell a thing. Pro-tip is to cut off the threaded hose end to make it easier to get around the bend.

Good advice!

I wonder if there is a hose attachment that could be fitted to the external soil vent pipe (waste pipe) of the house? Then the hose wouldn’t even have to go inside to the toilet. That would be possible in the UK anyway.

Thank you for that short, simple demonstration without going into a whole spiel about the whole history of rv macerators or showing us videos of you cute dog, etc. Lol.

If you have town sewage you may already have a 4" clean out in front yard. I called my plumber to help me find it. If I would have known it was that easy I would have bought a cheap metal detector and found it myself. In just minutes the plumber found the metal cap, and replaced with plastic 4" cap. I now dump directly there from RV. Its about 8 feet from curb so its super convenient. So much easier then pump and hose to inside toilet.

Thank you for this video! Really helpful! Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a camper that small of a size that had a double axle.

Love this. Nice game changer for us. I actually place my hose in the cleanout on the side of the house.

Yes, that is also a good option.

I am new to RV'ing .. I am just starting to build my van this summer (1994 Chevy Step Van) I as worried about he pump breaking down and having to replace it ... I assuked the pump was IN the tank,. But this modular set up is fantastic!!, for the price? ... I'd keep a spare pump on board! :)

We got one season out of it so far with no problems. And that was with two rental RVs, so we used it up to two times a week.

Is there a more permanent attachment so I don't have to do this every time.

Great video thanks! I have a question. I have a shop sink in my garage. Can I build a “Y” fitting off of my drain and just hook up the macerator to it? In your opinion.
@DriveNorth
@DriveNorth 6 месяцев назад
If it's ok for sewage to go down that drain, I don't see why not.

I don’t know if I’m missing something, but I don’t understand how this makes dumping any easier. You still have to empty your tanks into a portable tank if you’re boondocking. Is it just so people can empty their tanks at home if they don’t have a sewer clean out nearby? I think I would be leery of running a hose through my house so I could dump into my toilet. 😳
@DriveNorth

For boondocking, it's nice that you can pump into a portable tank that is higher than your dump valve, like if the tank was in the back of your truck. It's great for us as we rent out our RV and sometimes renters bring back the rig not fully emptied. Now I don't have to hook up and drive to a dump station. I was leery too of running a hose through my house, but it is a surprisingly mess/odor free process.

Does the potable city water connect to the flush port go to a tee that connects to the RV sewer pipe? So if you forget to turn the black handle on the green valve your sewer is directly connected to your potable water connection? No traps, no vents, no back flow valves between the potable water and the sewer just that little green valve?
@DriveNorth
@DriveNorth 7 месяцев назад
It is just the valve, so I suppose there could be some back flow if you didn't switch it. thats why it's important to have a dedicated hose just for this purpose.

Why don't you use your sewer clean out in the front of your house instead dragging the hose through your house

Good question. 1.) I wanted to show how to do this if the clean out is inaccessible, because ......2) I don't even know where mine is lol 😐3.) My old. cranky, nosy, next door neighbor would surely think I'm pulling an "uncle Eddy" and likely file some kind of complaint

@@DriveNorth fk em! Lol YOU pay YOUR taxes on YOUR property, DO IT! Hell i do! Lol appreciate the video and knowledge! When your neighbor complains send them a bill for your next bill cycle so they can start paying the bills in a home they done live in since they wanna have control over your house so much lol nosey a$$ neighbors need checked ALL THE TIME especially when they CHOOSE to be petty over things.
@MrRicoRelz

Just grab a metal detector if anything and start looking lol that or it usually right by or against the house somewhere literally

Is this a good option if the septic tank is uphill from the RV spot we are using?
@DriveNorth
@DriveNorth Год назад
They advertise that it will pump 10' uphill, although that might be optimistic. I'm pumping a distance of approximately 50' with an increase of elevation of three feet and it works fine.

DO YOU NEED WATER HOZE OR CAN IT DUMP WITHOUT GARDEN HOZE
@DriveNorth
@DriveNorth 6 месяцев назад
You could dump from the tank directly into a bucket w/o a hose, but if you used the pump without a hose it would spew poo everywhere!!

Matthew, to clarify, you are making a slurry out of your poop, putting it under high pressure and pumping it into your house! What could possibly go wrong!!! No, just no!🤭 PS: Nice camper

Did this stink up your house?
@DriveNorth
@DriveNorth 2 месяца назад
Surprisingly no. With the hose all the way down the toilet, everything goes straight into the system with no real odors. There is a little smell when you flush, but not bad at all.
