I’ve noticed that when self service kiosks are utilized for scan ins, the tracking information indicates “usps expects item for mailing (SSK)”. So even though it’s not an official scan, it at least it gives some feedback in the system.
Agreed. I hear a lot of people say make sure a person scans it and you watch them do it. It does make perfect sense. If your handling time is 1 day or less I would say so. I have 3 days handling and so far no defects for that but I keep a close eye on the subject.
Thanks for showing us that pre-paid shipping can be processed at the selfservice station. I only wish I would have seen this yesterday before I left a large shipment unattended at a postal window where they are known for not scanning packages at my local USPS.
Thanks for watching. Some post offices are like that. The customer becomes the burden. There is a small one at Kure Beach, NC I use sometime. There is only one employee and boy does she have a cake job. However you can't get her to scan anything because she's on her phone the whole time.
Is it possible to print the prepaid label at the kiosk? Using eBay app to buy the label and need to print label there and mail at our after hours kiosk
Can i print label if I have label on my phone?, because I don't have qr code, and I don't know how I can get it If I have only label and tracking number
I would ask someone first. Ultimately I believe they may end up there but without knowing how your local PO operates It may be a gamble. I believe they ultimately want them in the bin beside the kiosk so they can verify one made it in there.
Hey man… so I need to know if I’ve been scammed. 1. I purchased something off line from a seller. 2. Sent money to user via zelle. 3. User said they dropped off package at SSK on January 6, 2023… 4. Sent a picture of receipt with tracking number and weight, etc. 5. Absolutely no activity. Just says “ACCEPTED. USPS expects item for mailing (SSK).” 6. Seller has been in touch but I have to always follow up with them. Would it be possible to print the label and not drop the package off in the drop box? Can someone print the label and never drop the package off in the drop box? If so they should really design the stupid kiosk in a way where it won’t provide the receipt until the item has been actually dropped off in the system via some counting feature.
This happened to me as well. Same issue. I wonder if we got scammed by the same person. I thought the same too where i got a reciept with tracking number but it's stayed on "accepted Usps expects item for mailing (SSK)." He reassured me that the package will arrive and if it doesn't, he will issue a refund. It's sounds pretty fishy to me. I've been going bonkers calling usps everyday pertaining this issue. Did you ever get your package?
What it does do is say you dropped it off in case the PO wants to say it was never there. I'm not worried about the departure scan. They did this to help both parties.
