Thanks! This is the best video tutorial, I’ve seen. I’m new to this 🤔. I Used my new AquaSonic for the first time yesterday and decided to check out some tutorials before giving up. My hygienist recommended the Water pick after a deep cleaning. It’s so expensive that I decided to start with a different brand. I have some deep pockets. Do you have recommendations about different brands? Btw, I love your smile and your conscience advice. I’m subscribing to your channel. 😁

Glad to hear my video helped you! I really do love the Hydro pod by Zima Dental because they offer multiple tips. Philips Sonicare or Oral B makes a quality water pick as well. They all run about $80-$100. The one-time investment is worth it especially if you had a deeper cleaning. It will help prevent you from ever needing it again.

I see you have the zima portable water flosser. Can you please do a video explaining the settings?? I can't find a description on their website.

Absolutely, I'll make one soon! Always start with the lowest setting and gradually increase the pressure after a couple weeks to get your gums used to it.

I have lots of crowns and am really sensitive to cold water, even cool water on my teeth. Do they make 1 that warms the water a little first? I guess I could just fill it with warm water. (duh, lol.) Are any of the cheap $35 rechargeable flossers good?

Hi there can using a waterpik at first make your gums bleed?
@Honesthygienist
@Honesthygienist 2 месяца назад
Yes! Especially if you haven't had a cleaning in a while. Flossing can make your gums bleed as well. Stick with water picking at least once a day for two weeks and the bleeding should decrease. If it doesn't then you might have tartar under the gums that needs to be removed by a dental hygienist.

Try taking it in the shower! Or make sure your lips are completely closed around the nozzle before you turn it on. Put your mouth 90 degrees towards the sink so the water sprays in the sink and put your hair up out of the way. Hope this helps!

Your recommendations about aiming at 45 degrees angle is down right false. Per the instructions of the designers of the Waterpik flossers, the nozzle should be directly facing the gum line, namely 90 degrees angle, not 45.
@Honesthygienist
@Honesthygienist Месяц назад
You do want to avoid putting it straight into the pocket but 45 degrees will allow the water to irrigate deeper into the perio pocket. 90 degrees is only going to get the food and plaque out from in-between the teeth, not 4mm below the gumline. With over 9 years experience as a dental hygienist seeing 8-9 patients 4-5x per week I can tell you this information is not false.
