Thank you, Madam. My family has been looking for a grill like this (mostly for rotisserie) but did not want to spend over $300. I realize after watching this, how much of a noob I am at grilling. :) I use way to much charcoal, never tried a chimney, no gloves and never cover it nor do I wash it until next usage and wonder why the grate gets rusty so fast... After becoming adept at the food part however it has renewed my passion and I will be trying to implement all of these tips. Thanks so much for the great video!!

I use a water heater overflow pan from home depot to clean my grill. The water heater pan fits a 22 inch grill grate and comes with a hole in the side you can plug with a PVC cap. Fill the water heater pan then soak your grill grate with a little Dawn over night. A light scrubbing the next day and a rinse and you have a grill grate that looks brand new.

@bkaley8974
@bkaley8974 Год назад
Thanks for your useful video! Unfortunately - Weber charcoal grills are no longer made with high quality yet they still cost much more. For instance, my New Weber 22 inch charcoal kettle grill. The steel is noticeably thinner. The top handle is no longer wood and is made of some kind of rubber plastic that gets super hot. The top also warped so it doesn't fit firmly. The fins on the bottom designed to scrape away the ashes have bent and cracked one by one rendering the grill useless for saving un burned charcoal. Hence I am looking for a charcoal grill that is heavy duty if anything like that exists any more in this high profit, low quality manufacturing world.
@Coffeeaddict_123

Great video, but is using a stainless steel brush to clean the lid a good idea? I'd say it would scratch the surface? Most other reviews say a plastic paint remover is the best option. Great video though!

Good video thanks for that. Couple of things. For the chicken thighs...20 mins. Each side (40 mins.) 5 mins each side on direct heat (20 mins). But you said total time is 40 mins? Using your advice of keeping the bottom vent open and controlling the heat with the lid vent makes sense, but for both chicken dishes you don't really address the position of the top vent, though I could pause, for a second, during the thighs to see it was about 1/2 open? Overall good by video and helpful. Thank you.
